Discussion: Pitching Practice Net

For those of you that don’t know me, I am a pitcher. I am looking for something to help me practice my pitching in my backyard, or anywhere for that matter. I don’t know if such an item exists that allows the ball to bounce on a mat or something, then has a net to keep the softballs from going all over the place. I would also like to be able to swap out mats/plates to represent the different types of strike zones under the various rules, including senior softball. This may have to be a custom build. Any ideas?

Yeah, that’s pretty clear. But in a case like my example above, is it a wash? Let’s say a 55AA is playing a 60AAA?

Discussion: Confused by the Equalizer Rule

I am still pretty new to senior softball. Can someone please explain how the Equalizer Rule works. For example, if one team is one higher in age groups, but they are also one skill rating higher, is it then an even playing field?
Thank you.

I am sorry. I have made the tough decision to only play locally this year. If anything changes, I will post my availability.

I turn 60 next month. I am an excellent pitcher and a very good outfielder. I hit the ball hard and have a little bit of pop. I live in Washington, so I am eligible to play on teams from: Washington, British Columbia, Oregon, Idaho, Alaska and Hawaii.

I live in Northwest Washington. I am primarily a pitcher, but have many years of outfield experience as well. Looking to secure a spot. I plan on playing for several more years.

Discussion: Pitcher Looking for a 60+ or 55+ Team

I will be turning 60 in March. I am primarily an excellent pitcher who can field his position quite well. I am also a very good hitter with a little bit of pop. I can play just about any position when not pitching, but would prefer to pitch as much as possible.

I have one year of 55+ AAA under my belt and have played softball my whole life. I live near the Canadian border in Washington. I have a flexible schedule and love traveling, especially to play ball!

I can provide references for my pitching by umpires, coaches, teammates, etc if requested.

I have been primarily a pitcher for many years. Prior to that, I was an outfielder. I have played some outfield recently and I am still comfortable. That being said I would prefer to pitch at least part of the time. I have decent speed and I am a line drive hitter with some power.

Looking for a tournament team to join. I turn 60 in March, so either 60+ or 55+. I have played one year of senior ball on a 55+ AAA team, and have been playing ball since I was 16. I live in Northwest Washington, close to the Canadian border. I am primarily a pitcher, but can play the outfield and other positions. I am a good hitter with occasional power.
