Steve, yes this is a nice little complex & sure it was nicely run, only problem with it there was another Senior Tournamet in Dayton less than 20 miles away with 20+ teams, could of been better if they weren't the same weekend.
Both were first time tournaments and first for the Dayton area in over 20+ years.
Dayton Legends Softball Club has 6 Senior teams in the 50/55/60/65/70 age brackets.

Last word on the street was:
Dayton had 20+ & Beavercreek had 10+
Could of been a nice 30+ at either place.
Both 1st year tournaments.

Discussion: How many guys have had the pleasure of playing with their son(s)?

I will add a little twist to this. My first softball game was with my Dad at the age of of 14 with his work team, I was his runner after he reached first base, because of his wooden leg, I cherished those games until I played with my son in a tourny with his Navy buddies, we came in 2nd back in 1995. Since then have played with him & against him in leagues & tournies & umped some of his games. Next up is grandaughter who is 15. Cant wait.

Discussion: Ohio Senior Player Injured

Just wanted to report to anyone on here who might know old man Joe Merritt from our team Geddis Roofing, Century 21, and also Schones Chiropractor was injured pitching today for us in Indy at Midwest on the astro turf field.

This happened around 4 this afternoon, Joe took a shot to his face and left eye. It is 11:15 now and they just took him to surgery for his eye, we are at St. Vincent hospital in Indy.

The doctors have told us that he is most likely going to lose his vision in his left eye, they also will have to repair bone structure around the socket. Joe is also my father-in-law so its real tough to see him go thru this, but for those of you who know Joe he is a tough s.o.b. He refused to have his UA shirt and our team jersey cut off so they had to force it over his head to get it off!! Also had to get his stomach pumped from all the blood he has swalloed.

Surgery will take a few hours and then a day or 2 here at the hospital before he can go back to Columbus.

If your the praying type Joe could use it along with his wife Pam. Joe works for the railroad and this injury will probably cause early retirement, its amazing how one ball up the middle can change so many things for a family that quick.

I for one would like to see a mask of some sort on all of you guys that pitch, its just not worth what the family is going thru tonight over softball.
