June 23, 2012 E4/E6 | Topic: General and miscellaneous Discussion: Yellow Combat for sale Bruce you give him too much credit, why do you think he's selling the 26, too heavy for him to swing. I understand Combat is building him a Pink 15oz. Preliminary name will be "The Lil Woody Special" A team mate has a White combat W/a short barrel we will slap around this weekend, will let you know how it feels. Bob I'll ask around the Mustangs about your Yellow. |
April 24, 2012 E4/E6 | Topic: General and miscellaneous Discussion: What have Been Your Experiences With PVD? Yes Gary, That is and was humor, evidently something you fail(ed) to recognize with your Vast Education and Lack of Common Sense. Keep injecting your negativity Gary, it re-enforces what many on this board think of your comments. |
April 20, 2012 E4/E6 | Topic: Bats Discussion: Need your input The redundance of some is only out done by their lack of common sense. |
April 12, 2012 E4/E6 | Topic: Product review Discussion: new combat centenarian......short Woody, you're ONLY 64? |
April 11, 2012 E4/E6 | Topic: General and miscellaneous Discussion: best sunglasses for softball Frank, believe it or not I bought a case of wrap around welding glasses for my team mates a few years back and most of htme love em. They are actually pretty stylish and hardly able to tell them from normal sport glasses, however they are very dark and as you can imagine they cut the bright glare down to practically nothing without hampering the vision. You can find them at Aussie Eyewear & Safety 949.642.2781 Hope I have helped |
April 4, 2012 E4/E6 | Topic: General and miscellaneous Discussion: An apology to Gary19 Sorry but I just cant let this chance go. It will be simple and short, I promise. Doc, isnt that like calling the kettle black? Remember you didnt get your nickname from eating Brocoli. =) Get well Big Boy! |
March 27, 2012 E4/E6 | Topic: Tournaments Discussion: why is scoring down...... Tom, have you seen that crowd I play checkers with? Thats why I wear the gear! =) |
March 27, 2012 E4/E6 | Topic: Tournaments Discussion: why is scoring down...... Actually evolving means to develop, not necessarily to move forward. And it is a form of progression in this case. Just not what some purists like seeing. Like Scott wrote, "Forever evolving for better or worse". In my opinion its still better then checkers. Hockey gear and all. |
March 26, 2012 E4/E6 | Topic: Tournaments Discussion: why is scoring down...... The scoring wasnt down this weekend in Mesquite/St George, 25 to 35 runs was quite the norm for several teams in the Major division. Timberworks tossed up 105 in 3 games. |
March 21, 2012 E4/E6 | Topic: General and miscellaneous Discussion: I never dreamed it would be this hard to start playing again. Olden Slow, Tom, you call THAT playing? =) |
March 20, 2012 E4/E6 | Topic: Rules of the game Discussion: To the BOD of USA Gary19, stand on the pitchers rubber when Kennard, Irwin, Mike Adair, Mike Swearingen, or any number of the big hitters are taking BP and tell me that. (Hell even Joe Rinaldi) These guys like almost all players take their BP seriously, and use it like a game situation. I like many would enjoy having you come out and play, just to see who you are and what you can do with a glove and bat. |
March 7, 2012 E4/E6 | Topic: General and miscellaneous Discussion: Why give an award if it doesn't reflect outcome Hitt, I see your point, but who plays for the award? The achievement of winning is reward enough for many. Any award given should be nothing more then icing on the cake. Of course this is just my opinion. |
March 5, 2012 E4/E6 | Topic: General and miscellaneous Discussion: New player in town as it were. Maybe we should ask Marv. |
March 1, 2012 E4/E6 | Topic: General and miscellaneous Discussion: Should you be able to go for hits between the second baseman and shortstop Two of the best I have had the pleasure of being around are the Westphal twins, they are about as good as there are. |
March 1, 2012 E4/E6 | Topic: General and miscellaneous Discussion: Should you be able to go for hits between the second baseman and shortstop Must be something to it huh Gary? Regardless of the rules, the bats, the balls, or the constant ragging it takes, Senior Softball just keeps on thriving. We must be idiots to continue to play under these ridicules circumstances, utterly idiotic. Or just maybe, just maybe, we love to play it so much, we will overlook some of its misgiving. And j u s t p l a y. Odd concept isnt it? |
March 1, 2012 E4/E6 | Topic: General and miscellaneous Discussion: Should you be able to go for hits between the second baseman and shortstop Tim, maybe its because "he" is over 60. Sounds like its time for someone (J)to retire. =) The middle is part of the field, as long as we arent going after the pitcher its in fair play. Armor up if thats what it takes to feel safe. |
March 1, 2012 E4/E6 | Topic: Tournaments Discussion: Giving 5 runs to "inferior" teams Mental defense works on fragile egos, egos that are necessary to have if one wants to be a successful professional, they are wound a bit tighter then the rest. I believe Tiger would have been in a defensive mode to Nicholas or any of the others and vice versa, if they were behind in a tournament. That doesnt mean they would give up or stop trying, it just is what it is. Similar to the giving up of 5 runs I suppose. |
March 1, 2012 E4/E6 | Topic: Tournaments Discussion: Giving 5 runs to "inferior" teams Gary tell that to some of Tiger Woods opponents in his dominate years. His play would throw his opponents into an automatic defensive mode. Or when bowling, if your opponent throws strike after strike, you certainly would become defensive trying to figure out how to get in his head and slow his game down. Mental defense? |
March 1, 2012 E4/E6 | Topic: Tournaments Discussion: Giving 5 runs to "inferior" teams Woody you knows its hard to offend me, especially coming from you or many of my other friends. We felt the same way. We wouldnt ask for the runs from you, we are still in the development stage as a Major team and need to see where we fit in. So far we arent really fodder, but we arent a contender either. Gary not many remember the Coach(s), and not many remember the players, even though they pulled off a major coop in 1980. |
March 1, 2012 E4/E6 | Topic: Tournaments Discussion: Giving 5 runs to "inferior" teams Two things Gary, one) this isnt a Professsional level sport, therefore shouldnt be compared to them, in this instance. Two) I seriously doubt Namath or Brooks (whoever that is) were ever offered points. Woody, in our first game in PS against the 50 AAA team we didnt take the runs and as you know they stepped on us rather handily. In the second game against them we did take the runs and scraped out a win by 1 run, we should have been given runs playing your team heads up though =) I think the point is to balance out better talent over a lesser team the runs are a good idea. Even though they rarily help the lesser team win. |
