in a tourney today,i was told by the ump to quit walking around in my 6 ft. rectangle while delivering. i know in some sanctions you get one step in any direction. can i walk and take multiple steps all inside my rectangle while delivering?

ya know, for a 50 dollar bill, dozens of grandkids of your TOC directors would be more than happy to post DAILY results of all games. it is absolutely DUMB-DUMB-DUMB that i probably won't see all results until the middle of march.to not use this wonderful communications network is probably a confessable sin!!!

i'm playing an 8a.m. league game in pittsburgh,pa, in 1994.whoever did the foul lines obviously had a very good time saturday night.both lines snaked toward the foul poles, with the left field being the worst&missing connecting with the foul pole by 18 inches.well,we're playing our rivals for 1st place&i hit a game tying shot over the fence between the foul pole&the drunkards lime line, the ump calls it foul i take a nutty!i complain that the foul pole has been there for over 40years&how some drunk can't change everything, but we all know how that ended.i ended up lining out to third.and how about this!!!i was involved in 8(count 'em)8 triple plays this year!!!and had 2 others botched!!!

Discussion: Personal Perspectives on New Home Run Rule

there is one surefire way the hammer teams use when they used up their allotted homers and that has always been to hit ground balls through the middle.talk about shooting yourself in the foot!!!i'll say it again---make the pitching rubber 18" wide&any ball that goes through there up to 6' high is an automatic out. hit the pitcher, even after a glove deflection---inning over!!!EVERY pitcher PUTS HIS LIFE IN SEVERE JEOPARDY every pitch they make.i fear for my life every time i pitch for my son's team.i'm scared shitless!!! actually, balls hit by 50&60 yr. olds come back through the middle as fast or faster than the young kids!!!i can pitch the youngsters inside, but you can't fool these 30&40 yr. veterans with ANY pitch!!! i'm gonna get hit,i'm gonna get hurt&i'm not gonna be happy about it!!!this new home run rule will definitely encourage players to go middle much more than usual.the rule was fine just like it was &they changed it for ALL the divisions just because the majors&major+ play homerun derby all the time.

Discussion: Up the Middle

havent seen any post tourney comments about the sun being directly at field level for our 4;30 game at Rose Moffett Stadium,field#1. never again in the history of seniors softball should any teams be made to play there at that time. playing first base, i did not see one liner until it was 9 inches in front of me. and my pitcher had to blindly defend himself when 7 consecutive batters intentionally went direct middle to take advantage of the elements, which is o.k. but the game should never have been played under these conditions.as for the hitting middle rule-there is but one solution grasshopper---make the mound18"wide and any ball that goes through that 18" slot is an out. hit the pitcher inside the 6"rectangle---inning over.hey guys....at our age, everything we enjoy involves PAIN&PERIL!!everything we love involves possible pain, soreness or death.
