I notice that in the 65 AAA that most teams play 2 round robin games on Sunday ans 2 on Monday which means that with 14 teams if you lose either of the first 2 games you must play 4 games on Tuesday and 6 games on Wednesday to win. Seems to me that 3 on Sunday would have made more sense to eliminate one on Wednesday.

Millers 65 would like to complement the entire SPA organization for a well run tournament this past weekend. They are a classy outfit and are nor afraid to return some of our entry fees in the form of awards unlike the SSWS group who are greedy and stingy with their awards. Ken Maas has missed the boat again with his format, awards and stubborness in not listening to the players. Thank you to Ridge for being there.

Discussion: De Moines format

The format stinks and has always stunk. It encourages teams to lose on purpose and some teams are getting good at hiding the losses. If Ken Maas would only listen to some of the suggestions he would have far more entries. We proposed that a team could only drop 1 class from their current ranking which would allow a AAA or AA Team to possibly win his lower division. It would also encouage lower ranked teams to participate.

It is just the same as if the shortstop had the ball in his hand and swiped his foot on the bag. The runner would be out.

We are a 65 team (Millers 65) and have been going to this tourament for 10 years since it started. It is one of the best run touraments around. The contactact person is John Lidster at 519-690-2685

I agree that the tourament was very well run considering the terrible weather they had to deal with. However, it would be nice to if they would follow the rules of their sanctioning organization.
Specifically the 1-1 rule, no home run rule and increase the time limit for elimination games.
Thanks for an otherwise great tournament, Tim.

Discussion: SSUSA- Mobile Tournament

The Millers 65 Team would like to thank everyone at SSUSa for the excellent tournament they ran at Mobile. The area was great, the umpires were thev best we have seen all year and the general format was fair to all. Our division (AAA) seemed to be very competitive with 4-5 teams with a chance to win.
