Discussion: Old stories of bat doctoring

Had a Louisville Slgr TPS Titanium -5 baseball bat with a nitrogen bladder in the head back in the 90's that was stupid hot. Glad we went to wood bats...

Discussion: Choosing Home team vs Visitor

DKO - Our team wants to hit. We travel to play and have fun and its more fun if you hit more. Choosing to be the Visitors in all but the most important of games gets us a few more at bats. Prelim games are warmups where you want everyone to get ABs. We take alot of guys to tourneys and want them all to get their ABs. Hit!

Discussion: Do you use a Heavy/Warm up ball

Bob - The EVIL HEAVY ball is excellent! I have passed mine around at tourneys and leagues over the past month and almost everyone who warms up with it really likes the feel of this one. From first throws to long toss it's become a routine. We thought it would be great for the early season but we'll continue to use it through the year. Hope some of the guys I've given the info to have gotten to you. One is not enough...Thanks.

Hey Bob. Warmed up with Evil Heavy before practice Sunday with Pace teammates. All really liked the weight and feel. We'll pass it around town too. No arm or shoulder strain at all. Great prep for long toss. Thanks.

Discussion: bats and cold weather

Crusher is right about the effect of expansion and contraction. Thermal shock resistance varies greatly from one composite formulation to another. Base resins, fillers, impact modifiers, reinforcements, UV stabilizers, colorants, etc. all have limitations. Heat and humidity affect both bat & ball as well. You can "dry out" a bat making it more brittle or turn a ball into a "rock" or "mush". Best thing is to avoid wide temperature ranges over a short time. If you leave your stuff in the trunk of your car - warm it up before use. My bats sleep indoors....

Ken - I drive I90 to Erie a lot. There actually is a Northeast PA in north west PA on the lake just over the NY border before Erie - that's why I asked. DH

Discussion: Evil Wax Bat Grip

Bob - used my sample last night. Works great on the bat. Like the sticky texture and, like Fred S, I was surprised at the bare hand ball grip improvement, too. Was a game with wet grass. I'm sharing the rest of the sample with my teammates.

Leo "Matador" Harrington on Athletic Outlet/Bathtub Billy's is a excellent pitcher with lots of different grips/release points and a 3B glove. Fun to play behind. Monster bat. Monkey Bar MVP.

Al - 90ft bases, wood stick, pinkys, and you have to chug a beer everytime you score.
Oh shite that's stickball. Really just thought this question was worth a bump for an answer - I'd expect 2012 rules. Like you said doesn't matter just make it warm weather!

Switched to Pravastatin 80s helped alot. Had serious muscle issues with Lipitor. No issues in last 4 years since switching - not an endorsement - just a personal fact.
Good luck lowering cholesterol however you do it.

Discussion: Thoughts for the upcoming SSUSA Rules Committee meeting!

Cut the spot! If the spotted team gets 5 runs in an inning don't give the 1 run spot on top of that inning. In fact, if they get to 4 - call the half inning and give them 5. If the spot is meant to even things up - lets make it possible to get even. Shortens the game and makes sure the over team gets 7 innings to hit and make up the difference. It shouldn't have to come down to the last open inning every time. Cut the spot.
