March 15, 2010 12AM#8 | Topic: Teams looking for players Discussion: 40+ team needs an OF or 2 for St. George Hi, We can use one or two good outfielders for Spring Worlds in St. George, Utah March 27-28. This is for men's 40+. Please send me an e-mail if interested e_swartz@yahoo.com Thanks, Eric |

Aug. 29, 2008 12AM#8 | Topic: Tournaments Discussion: 40 and over phoenix worlds It's too bad your team is going to boycott the tournament because you think there is one team entering that you can't beat, even though you may not even play them. Obviously having one stacked team is an issue that SSUSA will have to deal with, but at least offer a suggestion for how you would like to see it resolved. If they really are paying some of their players, that is absolutely ridiculous and there should be an asterisk stamped on their rings:). Our team is not afraid to play anyone, and personally I would rather place second behind the best team in the world than win a watered down event. However we are not sponsored and if that makes a difference then it's too bad since I'm sure there are guys on your team who want to compete and there are only so many years to play competitively in the 40+ division. With the SSUSA format, JK Inc can be defeated, even by a team without major or "professional" players. We had a chance to do it in Reno and hopefully we will get another shot at them in Phoenix. There will be at least three 40+ teams going to Phoenix from Nor Cal, and I would expect at least 10 teams total. Not sure what happened with the Salt Lake City event, for us it would be too much with Phoenix and Vegas on our schedule. You guys should think about entering the Sacramento tournament next year - there were only five teams this year but it was great competition and a fun tournament to play. |
May 29, 2008 12AM#8 | Topic: General and miscellaneous Discussion: What to wear for shoes at Golden Eagle/Reno Can someone post better directions for how to get to Golden Eagle Park from downtown Reno? All I have seen is take Vista past Wingfield Springs, but there is no info on how long it takes to get there from Downtown Reno or how many miles you drive on Vista Blvd (and what is Wingfield Springs)? Is that the best way to get there? Thanks! |
