Discussion: Turf Shoes for Plantar Fascitis

YEP OZ40 is right on!! If you don't buy new shoes every season at minimum change the insoles. I learned all of this the hard way but avoided surgery by "trying" the heel seat insole just to see if the hype was real and now back in the outfield and walking and running without pain.

These Work for me. I Suggested to others and worked for them as well.I highly recommend.
Buy the original not the gel. The gel moves while the original stays firm to the arch. Wear everyday in all of my shoes not just softball shoe. Avoid Boombah shoe (I wear 3N2) and avoid wearing sandals. Sandals offer no support to the foot or achilles.I would wear these in any softball shoe regardless of Brand. No off the shelf softball shoe on the market offers support for Plantar fasciitis. If you Buy a new pair of shoes buy or add an insert of some sort. All you get is a flat piece of foam that does nothing to support the foot.

Discussion: Bumped up teams

Not my intent to intrude on this but are the East and West nationals now "move up" Tournaments ? or were these move ups already imminent due to other criteria.

"automatic move" championships in a bracket of more than five teams ... Those three tournaments are ...

1. The LVSSA/SSUSA World Masters in Las Vegas;
2. The SPA World Championships in Dalton, GA; and
3. The ISA Senior World Series in Columbus, IN

Not certain I agree with door#2. I'd be more inclined to go with door #1. With door number 2 we're giving the out but allowing the previous batter to occupy second base?? The rule reads "no substitute or courtesy runner".

For clarity 5th batter in lineup made last out of inning but for whatever reason can't run and by rule is called out. So we have an out and the 4th batter in lineup is allowed at 2nd base??? In my opinion That's not the rule. I'd have an out with no runner at 2ND.

Last batter on second to begin an Extra inning.

The three critical words, "the last batter", are not subject to even the slightest amount of ambiguity and, accordingly, absolutely control the ITB situation.

My question is understanding that the Last batter is out if injured and cannot run. When is the illegal by rule substituted runner out? Once he steps on the base? after a live ball appeal? After a pitch is thrown or the illegal runner moves up to 3rd base can he still be called out as being illegal?

Discussion: UTRIP -senior ?

The new Worth Mach1 is a senior bat and I would highly recommend it over the Kreacher. It being a Senior bat removes any ambiguity of approval and at about the same cost.

In general:

Worth:
All Worth slow-pitch bats stamped NTS Certified with the SSUSA Logo are approved.
All Worth slow-pitch softball bats stamped 1.21 BPF or lower are approved

BOOMBAH is the worst shoe you can buy for softball. Provides no support to the feet. (Plantar and Achilles).Would warn against BOOMBah. Not in the top TEN brand to Buy.

Discussion: Commit line abuse

The Commitment Line rule was written as a preventative for injuries and one that I think should carry over to all of softball and not just at the Senior Level. Playing with the youngers and forgetting one moment that I wasn't Playing a senior game. it almost scared the crap out of me when this young whippersnapper came sliding in at my feet!

The only issue I have with the commitment line is that it is not always where it should be. Sometimes longer-sometimes shorter than the 30ft.

The change to the written rule. Should read defensive player should be in contact with plate OR mat. currently reads "strike zone mat"
