Discussion: A True Equalizer

My thought on equalizer. Major+ vs Major. Play by Major rules give no runs-no extra fielder.

Equalizer game involving any AAA and below teams play AAA rules- give no runs-no extra fielder.Mercy (10 or 15) after 5 full innings. No open inning.

Rambrose, these were scheduled the same in 2016.Columbus 40 teams,Elgin 20. To each his own but,the fact that Columbus is a TOC qualifier makes the July weekend a no brainer especially the comparison being Elgin.

Discussion: Need player for TOC

I guess it won't hurt to ask but, deadline as written is January

Managers may request to add players who are regular members of the team, but were not
able to attend the qualifying championship tournament. Managers must APPLY to SSUSA for
approval of these players in writing before January 6, 2017. They players are approved on
an individual basis. NOTE: Any player to be considered for roster addition must have been
otherwise eligible as to age and residency for that team during the 2016 Season.
If an invited team's roster falls below 12/13 players, the team MAY APPLY TO ADD players
until it reaches the 12/13 player level. These players may be from the SAME (or older) age
group in the SAME or LOWER skill level. Managers must APPLY to SSUSA for approval of these
players in writing before January 8, 2016. They are approved on an individual basis.
If an invited team's roster falls below the 15/16 limit, the team will be able to add players until
it reaches the 15/16 player level. These players must be from the next OLDER age group in
the SAME or LOWER skill level. Managers must notify SSUSA in writing before January

May be too late to add players for TOC. I think the deadline to add was in January.

Discussion: Rating Question

50M . Player could play 55M but not for the TOC unless,he qualified for the TOC with your team . Sounds as if the player did not qualify for the TOC with your team and you want to add him as a pick-up ?? Team makeup comes into play but, adding a player rated above the rating (55M)you qualifed would not be allowed. I think this players rating changed as soon as he signed the roster and played 50M. Player exemptions and additions for the TOC must be the same or lower than the rating qualified.Adding a player with a higher rating technically and in theory changes the make up of the team.

Discussion: new ratings in December

17 Black, your noted rating may simply be an error.Check with the office. Your ratings would follow you for 2 years. Playing and being rated 50 major in 2015 your team would not be legal to play AAA in 2017 as all of your team is rated Major. The only time I have ever seen a teams rating change in this manner was if an appeal to Rating was requested and granted

In any event there isn't a rule that prevents you from "Playing up" (Major)

Discussion: RECLASSIFYING A TEAM/AND OR PLAYERS

I don't think It would not be necessary for a player to get reclasified in order to play 60 Major. The "team makeup" is what supports the M+ rating. DOCS played 55M+ in 2015.You stated that you lost 5 or 6 players due to not yet being 60. So the remaining half of your "team makeup" that can play 60 are more than 3 and too many to play 60M because they all carry the 55M+ player rating. 60M+ is one rating class below 55M+ so as a team you have been allowed the one drop in classifcation.

Again not sure but,Individually and dependent on a teams makeup a 55M+ player could play 60M without being reclassified but he would still carry the 55M+ rating.

It not illegal to have more than one wrap of tape. However, and I am talking SSUSA Senior ball it illegal to tape into a cone. You can tape over a cone but, not "shape" tape into a cone.

Discussion: records for the year

Here are the guidelines for teams winning the LVSSA/SSUSA World Masters Championships, the ISA Senior Worlds, the SPA National Championships:

1. Teams winning in a division of 6 or more teams and may not appeal their rating increase in [the following Season].
2. Teams winning in a division of 3-5 teams and may appeal their rating increase in [the following Season] after playing in three (3) tournaments.
3. Teams winning in a division of 2 teams will not be moved up.
4. SSUSA reserves the right NOT to move a team up if there is a preponderance of information showing the team should remain in the original skill level.
___________

This is the reciprocity agreement between the three associations regarding rating increases for their World/National Champions ...

Bruce a lot before demarini. I still have some old Bombats with endcaps. I started playing softball in 1980 and the first bat that I used had an endcap.I think that I still have it too.It was a bombat as well.
