Discussion: Vegas Roster

Thanks Staff .We are schedule to play the Northern Tourney next weekend. We have a few players that may not be able to attend. Called California and was told that only players that play in Lansing will be eligible to play in Las Vegas.Even if it's for only one game, you must be there to sign the roster. This doen't jive with the reading of reading the "white paper".

Discussion: Vegas Roster

Few questions regarding roster for Vegas.

Which roster is used for Vegas?

Which roster would be used if for example a team played 3 qualifiers.

Is any team that has played a qualifier eligilble to play Vegas? Can changes be made to the roster used at the qualifier?

Must a team play in a TOC in order to play at Vegas?

Discussion: POSTING ALL SCORES IN 2017

Not understanding the cry outs for "scores"and who beat who. Do understand a want to see results or who won a Tourney and perhaps finished 1-2-3 but, SCORES!!? What difference does it make if a team wins by 1 or 101? What knowledge is gained be scores?

Discussion: shaved bats

Bballer.Any well broken in bat will fail the compression test. This doesn't mean that the bat is shaved. I would bet that some senior bats would fail the test 10-20 swings out of the wrapper.Senior Bats are produced in a manner that one could almost"consider" in the shaved category. The Senior Stamp on the bat isn't what makes them the missle launchers that they are.Any kid in that ASA tourney you spoke of would put down any bat they own to swing a Senior bat.Not sure why we went to Senior Bats nor why a person would shave one but, until the thrill of th 400ft. Homerun and the stroking of the EGO dissolve. IT IS WHAT IT IS....

Discussion: Older Miken U2

The earlier produced models had the smooth end cap with no Miken logo "M".The Bat had no ASA stamp and a bubble knob sticker. The "W" in the endcap was burned in by Miken to indicate bat was a warranty replacment. Then came the ASA stamp and the logo M endcap. The Miken II with no ASA stamp is the most sought after and said to be the better model version.

Discussion: You make the call!

Just for the record. The umpire "cancelled" the hit called the the hitter out. No run scored .Inning over!

This after he conferred with his partner umpire! Go figure.

Discussion: You make the call!

Runner on second base- 2 outs. Batter at plate. Umpire calls two strikes, the third pitch is called a ball. The next pitch hits in the middle of the mat for the third strike.Umpire calls that pitch a strike as well, but failed to say or verbally call strike 3. Batter remains in box (thinking 2 strikes). Pitcher pitches the ball-batter hits a double one run scores-hitter on second. Defensive team now realizes that the batter actually struck out and brings this up to the umpire.

What should be the correct call from the umpire ?

Discussion: EQUALIZER RUNS QUESTION

Question has probably been asked but, at the risk of redundacy.
One (1) Run is given to the lower rated team innings 2 thru 6. If because of time limit the 6th inning becomes the Open Inning is the run still allowed to the lower rated team?

Discussion: DARK CLOUDS IN 65 MAJOR PLUS

Was it your Pitcher that pitched the ball or did their manager pitch the ball too ? You only mention a 3 run homer as the advantage gained. The Game was won by 12 ! Appears they hit ths Stote Ball pretty well too!

Benefit of the doubt it was a mistake. Error was corrected once discovered.

Discussion: make the call

If a coach is accidently hit by a thrown ballthen the ball is alive and inplay. However, if a coach interferes with a thrown ball the runner shall be out.

It is also required for the base coaches to leave any space that is needed by a fielder to field the ball. If a coach hinders a fielder's ability of fielding a ball the batter should be called out and the runners must return to the base they were last occupying before the play.

coop 3636 the one thing you might want to check is "like a base coach in the coach's box" . The coaches box is not a safe haven if a fielder is attempting to make a play on a foul ball.

I agree PMR131, just play by the lower rated team rules straight up. Why "give"anything!?

Discussion: Lower back problems

Just as a note. If you are driving or flying for more than 2 hours to a Tourney or at any time really it is a good idea to wear a back brace. At our age it does not take long for our mucsles to start to athropy after sitting for a long periods of time. The back braces that I wear is in the link below.I simply wear it under my shirt. I take batting practice with it and have actually played entire ballgames while wearing. They are a bit stiff when knew but, they loosen up and are still adjustable as you need.

k man. With with "infield fly rule". Batter is out no matter what else occurs if "ball is fair." Runner can be called out for interference after "infield fly is called. Ball is dead and Other base runners may not advance if interference is called.

Don't mind the hats or bags but, Print/identify them specific to the Tournament you are playing.ie "Champions Vegas Worlds" Today it's the same red hat for every tourney with SSUSA on them.

A Major team losing 3 players is still a Major Team. You would still have more than half of the team still intact.Generally speaking. Specifically speaking. Contact the Office.

Discussion: Vegas Info Help

It really depends on which fields you are playing. , but a good reference point is to use the Tournament Event Page. Open the Blog for the Vegas Tourney. There are a list of Hotels on the page. Again it depends on which fields you are assigned.(which won't happen for a while) But I found a good starting point.
