Discussion: Playing with a 5 man infield...

Fred S. there is a difference between playing with a rover and playing the 5 man.

Hat man is correct too.The most important position in the 5 man is the pitcher. If you can't pitch to it you shouldn't play it.All pitchers middle and in- no outside pitches. He has to be able to pitch to the defense and field the postion as well.

The way it was taught to me and the way we played it was the middleman always has the bag. if played correctly the second baseman should be playing so deep there is no way he could ever cover the bag.

Discussion: senior bat

Basically each league is it's own entity and the rules vary.Officially Senior batsa ere only "legal"in ASA Championship Tourney Play. Our League uses ASA Umpires ASA Balls but, you can use any bat other than Senior bats.None allowed.

Discussion: Pitchers Chest Protection

I don't pitch but, played with a guy that uses Paintball chest protectors. They are available in a variety of styles and are not very expensive. The style he used was very portable as well.Quick on and off between innings.
Just a sugesstion...

Discussion: Get rid of Major +

Curty, I would assume that Major and Major+ would combine to one level with some modifications of the current rules Major becoming the top Level as it was when I started playing senior ball.My opinion is to also gid rid of the AA division. We simply have too many levels. IMO.

When you flip -flop it is the open inning AND last inning. If you were up by fourteen and they got only 10 the game is over.

Discussion: A True Equalizer

My thought on equalizer. Major+ vs Major. Play by Major rules give no runs-no extra fielder.

Equalizer game involving any AAA and below teams play AAA rules- give no runs-no extra fielder.Mercy (10 or 15) after 5 full innings. No open inning.

Rambrose, these were scheduled the same in 2016.Columbus 40 teams,Elgin 20. To each his own but,the fact that Columbus is a TOC qualifier makes the July weekend a no brainer especially the comparison being Elgin.
