Discussion: QUESTION FOR SSUSA STAFF ON RULE 14,2 (4)- C AGE GROUP 75

RULE QUESTION : WHY SUCH A DRASTIC CHANGE ON THE 75 AGE GROUP " C " RULE FROM 2014 TO 2015. I could see changing 5 players age 74 down to 2 or 3 , but not doing away with all 5 PLAYERS FOR 2015.
JUST ASKING.

RULE:
14.2(4) • AGE ELIGIBILITY AND GROUPING
B. For the 2014 season, men's 80+ age division teams
may draw seven players aged 78 or 79; including
not more than three 78 year olds. (EXAMPLE: 80+
teams may have four players aged 79 and three
aged 78). For the 2015 season, men's 80+ age
division teams may draw three players aged 79.
For the 2016 season and thereafter, men's 80+
age division teams must be comprised only of
players aged 80 or older.
C. For the 2014 season, men's 75+ age division teams
may draw five players one year younger than the
minimum age. (EXAMPLE: 75+ teams may have five
players aged 74). For the 2015 season and
thereafter, men's 75+ age division teams must be
comprised only of players aged 75 or older.

Discussion: RENTAL CAR PRICES FOR WORLDS 9/28-10/2

It appears vehicle rental prices are rather high at this time.
QUESTION: would it be feasible for all of the players who intend to rent a car, post on here if they get a great price on a car in the next few weeks?

AT THIS TIME, it appears that e-z car rental and somebody called firefly has the cheaper rates.

I am not familiar with these 2 rental companies. any experience ?

we ( seniors )need to look out for ourselves and help each other out if any car deals appear in the next few weeks.

thanks to all.

hey bob, how you doing !? hope all is well with you. i went down with a minor rotator cuff problem and a couple of small tears on my left shoulder. the issue showed up in tulsa, about 2 months ago. the pain was terrible when i threw overhand. i am still playing the outfield and i am able to throw underhand without a problem.

had an MRI done, and the doctor says it can be fixed with therapy, which i have started already. my swing has not affected, thank the lord.

next tournament for us is college station, need to get freddie qualified for SSUSA.

WE HAVE ABOUT 4 TOURNAMENTS LEFT, including college station, PLANO, DALTON AND LAS VEGAS.

IF YANKEE is interested in playing 60's tournaments, possibly ed or tommie can use him. i am not sure if they need players.

bob, are you going to college station ?

see ya ! frank a.

we are still in shock here in dallas. he was a gentle giant with a kind heart, BUT A BEAST WITH THE SOFTBALL BAT.
one can never tell when it's time, meanwhile, enjoy family, friends, team-mates while one is here.
he will be sorely missed by his softball friends.

Topic: Bats
Discussion: What's the best bat for open tournaments?

i have played senior softball for about 13-14 yrs. i have fallen for the hype on new bats every year. i have bought a few based on the hype, and they are decent bats for senior softball. however, i started with the ultra 2 when it first came out, and have noticed that most new bats are always compared to the ultra 2.

the problem with the ultra 2 is the durability issue. i have broken 10-12 since i have been playing, eventually it has soaked in that once you feel the ultra 2 is broken in, you only used it during tournaments.

i have approx 10-13 bats hanging in the garage that i use ocassionally, IE: YELLOW COMBAT, AMBUSH, MIKEN 2 PIECE BALANCED, CENTENARIAN, REEBOK BALANCED, PLUS A FEW MISC OLD BATS.
while these are all good bats, they do not have the consistency of the ultra 2 .

i dont have the greatest eye for hitting the ball, most good hitters say , " hit the bottom part of the ball to create the spin ". my eyesight is not that good anymore, i just want to make good contact and see what happens.

my .02c ( good or bad ! )
