Discussion: Recommendations & Cures

Having bad knees, bad ankles and arthritis in my hips I have tried many different things. Advil or Alleve prior to playing helps me. I have also stumbled across a couple of things that help during and after playing. I use a cream called Joint Flex. I found it at Walgreens. I also use a product called China Gel. I found it on line at Ithaca Sports. It's great on muscles and joints. I would reccomend trying booth of these.

What is the new Combat Pure? What does it look like? Could it be the new white one that's coming out?

Does anyone have know or have an opinion about the differences between the Miken Ultra II and the Miken Ultra II USA models. Which one is better?

Gentlemen,
Let me say thank you to all of you that have responded and even to those who haven't responded. Your service to our country is extremely appreciated by myself and I'm sure many others. It's because of people like you all that I am able to live the life I do and to do the things that I do. Veterans Day and Memorial Day are two of the most imoportant and meaningful Holidays in my life.
I never had to serve in the military so I can't begin to know what any of you have gone through or what sacrifices you have made during that time. The men and women who serve and protect our freedom and liberty are often overlooked and not respected. To all our military personell past and present, please accept my heart felt thanks and God Bless America. Happy New Year.

I hate leagues, but I'd still play locally for some exercise and to be with friends. Definitely would play more, no a lot more golf. Also, have three new grand children to spend time with along with my wife.
For over 35 years softball has afforded me the opportunity to go places and do things that I probably would'nt have done. That's another reason why I would like to participate as long as I can. I really enjoy tournament softball.

Discussion: Do you guys thank....

Webbie25 - I totally agree that our government is lying through their teeth about a lot more than we really want to know about. I think you would agree with me that the middle class as we knew it in the past is shrinking. Yes we are way ahead of the world in that respect but getting worse. Good paying jobs are harder and harder to come by thanks to our governemnt. If a couple loses their jobs, then owning a home doesn't keep them out of the poverty potential. Why are there so many homes in foreclosure? Your figures are quite impressive but, they are also quite old. I also don't neccessarily trust College Professors either. ottom line is that I think you and I are on the same page, just different lines.

Discussion: Do you guys thank....

Gentlemen, Thanking someone for a goods or service is a two way street. I always say thank you for a goods or service provided if I get what I pay for and will complain if less than satisfactory. I also expect a thank you in return for spending my money where ever it may be at.

I very much do feel fortunate to be playing this game at my age, at the level of play and the places we play at. I think there are many out there who would like to be doing the same thing.

Southernson, Do you realize the latest census figures show that 1 out of 2 americans are living at or below poverty level? Do you realize that less than 5% of all americans have less than $100K saved in their retirement accounts. Do you realize that more and more peopole are working past retirement age? Good sponsors have been hard to come by for quite awhile due to the changing tax laws. These are just some of the real reasons that attendance is down at many tournaments. It's very expensive to travel and play all over the country. The game is basically just fine the way it is. Your propose changes aren't going to increase attendance.

OK Staff, Time to do your thing and remove. To use your phrase. "In this case, it was because, to use a baseball analogy, the pitch (reply) count was too high in relation to anything else of value being added to the thread's original posting purpose. Time to send that thread to the showers!"

Discussion: How many guys would or would not be playing if Gary19 had his way on rules?

I don't know or even care if you counted them or not. Your tongue in cheek comment is probably generous with numbers. The point is and was well taken that Gary19 has little positive to say about the game of senior softball. Gary never responds or challenges anybody on this board when you strike a nerve and he has no comeback. He's resistent to most anything unless he either thought of it or agrees with it. He's intent on stirring the pot. A good nickname for him is (TAK) The All Knowing. Guys should be ashamed for stooping to his level, but it at least passes the time. If he was ignored, do you think he'd get the point? I doubt it.

Well Gary19, I guess useful suggestions is in the eye of the beholder. Whoever that might be.
Webbie25 has supplied your numbers which support the facts and the facts are that you are a negative person.
You should also try using actual facts yourself with your 756 disparaging and negative remarks because your opinions are just that. Your opinions, not most of ours.

Absolutely should be played in Nov/Dec.

Wouldn't it be neat if Gary19 had at least one of the gadgets he claims not to have or use.

No, unfortunately for Senior Softball he had to learn how to use a computer. Now we all have to be inundated by him rambling on with his comments on just about every thread on this message board.

I used to work with a guy like him. Always had a comment on everything, even when he didn't know what he was talking about and always had to have the last word. A real pain in the neck to say the least.

Webbie25,
Thankyou, You are exposing what many of us already know. We are only told half the truth and usually the wrong half. It's certainly not to benefit the common American citizen.

Tater50, Great points. think I will try the same thing.

Many people have the attitude that they can't do anything about it so why try. Fact is, if we stick together and do our part, no matter how small it might be, WE can make a difference and help to institute change.

Sorry stick8, You are incorrect.

As of March 2011, China took over as the worlds largest manufacturer. They account for 19.8% of the worlds mmanufacuring versus 19.4% for the USA. This has ended a 110 year reign by the United States. Pretty sad to say the least.
We're not stuck with anything. We choose to be stuck with them. How many times have you heard that the United States is dependent on foreign oil? Too many times. Fact is we're dependent on foreign oil because our government wants it that way. Many government people and influential people are making a lot of money charging us for expensive foreign oil. We have more than enough oil in our own country that we choose not to use or refine. The Opec countries have two things to sell. Oil and dirt. If we told them we didn't want their oil, do you think we'd buy their dirt? Thank your enviromentalist's, lobbyist's and special interst groups for all this crap. Right now I'm concerned for my kids and their kids. Economic globalization is contributing to the downfall of our wonderful country. One word sums up most of it. GREED !

Gentlemen: Yes there are computers made in the USA. Check it out for yourself.
stick8, we can compete, it's just that our country has chosen not to compete. Get rid of NAFTA and CAFTA, etc. Let China and the rest of the world tighten up on their emission laws and safety laws. Have them charge us less for selling our stuff in their countries and charge them more for selling their stuff in our country. That's just the beginning. Our Government has sold us down the river boys.
They are now trying to get more and better jobs in our country. Hell, they're the ones that created it in the first place.
Third world countries lack a good manufacturing base. When you lose your manufacturing base and start to depend on others, then you start to turn into a third world country. Wake up people. It's happening right in front of your faces.
We are the greatest country in the world and the rest of the world needs us more than we need the rest of the world. IMO.
