Discussion: Balls

Hi Dave, Was just wondering what ball is being used by SSUSA. I know we used Trump Stote, and Trump Rock, in the past.
I've heard of shortages on balls, just like everything else.
If a different mfr is being used, how do they compare to the Trump's.
Thank you! hope all is well.

Yes, Thanks for bringing this up. I went on the site and saw something I'd better get.
They quit making the senior bat, but still have them for sale at a great
price. I had a 28 Boss Senior, it was a decent bat, but a little too light.
I will get a 30 oz. I saw one at a tournament in Milwaukee last year, never
saw one at a SS tournament before, the guy said he liked it, he was from
Popes transport, good team.
The xrt dually 3.0 is a good all assn. bat.
One thing to remember, these bats need time to break in, that is one thing
us seniors have a hard time doing, especially in colder climates.

Discussion: CHICAGO CLASSICS BOBCATS PITCHER PASSES

We wanted to let the Senior Softball community know that our good friend, and teammate,
Jim Brumund passed away yesterday, March 12th.
Many of you who played with, and against Jim, knew that he was a great pitcher. He played his position like no other, and hit like a champ.
Jim was a great friend, and revered teammate, he will be sorely missed.
Our thoughts and prayers are with his family.
Respectfully,
Chicago Classics Bobcats

Discussion: Las Vegas Fields and Umpires

I just wanted to make a comment about Vegas in general.
I think Dave and Fran Dowell do an excellant job running these tournaments. It does't matter where you go in the country, when they are there, it's done right. My hat goes off to them.
As far as the Vegas venue goes, it's too costly. From the airfares, rental cars, hotels, monies paid at the parks. We flew into L.A. and drove back to Vegas for half of what others were paying. The rental car was less than half of what I was quoted in Vegas. Six dollars for a beer, two dollars for a candy bar at BLD, and then have to pay to get in, give me a break. I thought seniors, as we are, were supposed to get a break once in a while.
Vegas is a captive market, and they know that, they don't care. Back to Phoenix?? I don't know.

Thanks for that, I break 3-4 bats a year. If you need someone to help testing in the midwest, let me know.
