Glad to know it passed the Best Friend Forever testing, but when will it come to market? :-)

I second what softball4b says about the blue flame. Using identical balls it will hit the mat 95%+. I use spikes to hold all three corners down and it is remarkably consistent. I also put a 2x4 across the front with spikes through it to get a little extra heighth. It really allows you to get into a groove. Here it is in action with a low arc...

I had one that lasted over 800.
My last Reebok lasted 160.
The Ambush is extremely durable for a senior bat.

SFTF, This is no ordinary bat. You just can't waltz out to your local WalMart and pick one up. No siree. You have to earn the right to borrow one. First you submit a 5000 word essay on why technology has ruined life as we know it. Then if you are found at least somewhat worthy you will be placed on a list. A hand written list [on ancient Egyptian papyrus]. When your number comes up a short yellow bus will arrive at your house to take you to an undisclosed location. Upon arriving [if you are observant] you will notice the "Get off my lawn" sign. Once inside you will be required to listen to that days lecture. It will eerily remind you of a Joe Biden speech sans teleprompter. If you survive this ordeal and I mean if, you will then be graced with your choice of either bat. The slightly off balance hot air model. Or, the BE loaded Bovine Excrement model. The bat will be yours to use for the period of one game provided you sign a waiver. The waiver states that if by some miracle of God you get a hit that you will not under any circumstances ask for a courtesy runner. After the game the driver of the short yellow bus will retrieve the bat and disappear into thin air. That is when you will wake up from the nightmare, drenched in sweat and with an overwhelming desire to quit softball and become a keyboard hero instead.

Mike it is so hard to say. I have had 3 Reeboks in the past year. The first one lasted about 375 swings and the second one 260. The one I have now has a 1/2" crack at just 160 swings. My two MM Gears lasted 600 swings each. But, I had a Supermax Psycho that after 1000 swings rivaled my senior bats and it lasted 800 more swings before breaking. I have one of the new Combat Ambush bats in my bag and it is still going at 600 swings. So, I guess if I had to put a number on it, 600 for me is a pretty durable bat. I actually broke two USSSA 454's in just 400 swings each. So I guess you could say I am pretty hard on bats. Mind you 600 swings for me would be double that or more for most.

It's called the Gnineteen.
It has a 1.21 BS factor.
It comes in two models.
One is full of hot air and slightly off balance.
The other is BE [bovine excrement] loaded.
Either one will up your skill level to that
of a keyboard hero that is smarter than anyone
who has ever stayed in a Holiday Inn Express.
So smart in fact when you have the Gnineteen
in your hands, you too will be omniscient, guaranteed. Just ask yourself and see! Have a nice day :-)

Not sure who ever decided that making a bat handle flex was good thing, but it really isn't. The more a handle flexes the less the walls of the bat compress and the less rebound. Maybe somebody was watching the two guys on seniorsoftballbatreviews, but let me assure you when they talk about standing on the handle to make it flex more they are clueless.

I'm with Kreugs on the Psycho. My 28 Supermax has 1200 cuts on it and I actually used it instead of my Reebok at the last tournament. It is probably 30-40' short of the Reebok but the sweetspot is huge and 360-380' is far enough :-)

Discussion: Reebok Melee

My first 29EL Reebok lasted just under 300 swings. Same as my first Macenko Combat 29 EL. The 2nd and 3rd Combats were good for 600. These bats are only used in 70+ weather. I also only hit 44-375 Senior League balls or 44-400 MicroCells. Just for Reference, I broke a Resmondo Mutant in less than 500 swings and a Worth 454 Reload in 400.
I also try to never hit the ball square, much preferring to cut the ball. Cutting the ball will way prolong the life of a bat vs. hitting it square.
IMO, the Miken Ultra and Worth Senior bats are crap. The end load Reebok has the best pop and about 65% of the Combats life span. While I strongly dislike the small knob on the Reebok, it is my favorite senior bat so far.

Uh, the trips to Crawford were not vacations. It was known as the Southern White House and was often used to entertain foreign leaders.
They were working trips not vaca's. But then trying to reason with an Obama voter is definitely the definition of insanity.

Mad Dog is absolutely correct on this one, DO NOT HIT Classic M's with your senior bats. I would suggest the Classic Plus balls or just a plain 44-375 synthetic.
Happy New Year everyone!!!!
May your 2012 softball season be played with passion and integrity with lots of fun and friendship mixed in!

Mad Dog, pure genius! tg69 that's a great idea for your new rule book.
Rascals for the outfielders to speed up the game. Personally I think the dugout should be awarded based on run differential in odd numbered innings in tournaments played on the full moon. Carry on. :-)

Yeah, thanks Kevin, now maybe the troll will chase after you. Be prepared to explain how you saw this testing first hand. Also be prepared to tell the troll where you bought the test gear and who certified it's accuracy along with listing everyones degrees in softball testing technology. Make sure it is all certified, notorized and sworn to on a copy of senior softball magazine. Otherwise have a nice day. :-)

BTW then prepare for the second round of inquiry, IJS
