Wood to Aluminum to thinner Aluminum and airplane Aluminum and doublewall Aluminum, etc.( Not to mention; cryogenics, bent handle, perforated, ceramics, etc.) Now it is carbon composites. It is never going to end with someone always trying to build a better mousetrap.....AND getting you to buy it!!!! |

| Aug. 28, 2011 Mr. Manassas | Topic: General and miscellaneous Discussion: BP/practice We started a BP club in Northern Va. with two guys about 30 years ago...This is what we do : We put a screen up and put cones at the 5-6 hole and the 3-4 hole. We hit in groups of three or four and take sets of four swings into the designated holes. The whole group will hit every ball into the designated hole. You lose your swings to the next guy if you take a strike or foul the ball over the fence.( that's more for fun). My buddy and I show up rain or shine because you have to play sometimes in "poor" conditions. This helps my mindset in games because I too have already decided where I am going to hit the ball based on the defence. We also work on the power swing(sac. fly for the base hitters) as well. If some one outside our group wants to hit with us they have to use our system or we won't let them hit with us..... |

Our team has guys that are good runners and that is one of the main reasons that we are successful...What is the harm?????I get a runner almost everytime I get on, even after an extra base hit...I have two knee replacements...At the very least by having runners it increases the number of people that can enjoy the game. |

The middle is no different to me than any other spot on the field. I have never tried to hit anyone, pitcher included, and I would not expect anyone to try and hit me. And at the same time I do not want any player to avoid hitting the middle if they think that they can get a hit. |

It gives teams time to let all their players state their case for starting in the DE part of the tournament as well as giving you time to get acclimated to the surroundings. I do think some consideration needs to be given to the schedule in the DE tournament so that some teams are not playing too many games in a single day. |

To be honest with you I do not think that the call for stepping out of the box should be made at all...I don't see the advantage for the batter. |
