| Dec. 6, 2021 neck10 | Topic: General and miscellaneous Discussion: Pitchers mask AKA staying behind the fence makes good sense the screen is to protect you .Your face mask isn't going to protect you if you take one off your chest it could be light's out.your face mask isn't going to help if you take a ball of your shin.We use a screen in our league it has saved many a pitcher from serious injury.I could never bear hitting a pitcher in the face or heart,someone get's hurt bad or get's killed because other's or so Macho Don't just talk safety abide by it!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! There's not a pitcher in senior softball that has fast enough reflexes to combat how fast these guy's can still hit the ball. There's no weight room to go to to improve your reflexes!!!!!!!!!!!!! |

Since we have played by this rule in other associations I am still using extra hitter & playing 12 guy's instead of 11.Let's another guy play.We play with 11 on defence(in our league) & we also use the screen, I've seen to many guy's almost lose there head> If there's no screen pitcher has advantage with me because I will not go up the middle.I hit a pitcher in our league years back we had to stand there & wait for fire truck's ambulance & it seemed like hour's for them to arrive,not worth it. If I take the pitch for strike three at least the guy goes home to his wife & family instead of hospital for three days. |

Say have either AA AAA &Major or have AAA Major & Major Plus & I don't understand the East West of the Mississippi(Louisiana's on both sides of the River) If you only get 4 guy's out of area who cares where they come from.We played 65 major plus this year with only 4 major plus rated player's & none were out of area. The home run rule needs fixed I Think 7 or 9 is a good number but not an out after you hit your allotment maybe singles Why penalize the long ball hitter ,You don't penalize a fast guy because he can still run but if you hit middle & hit pitcher your out second time your out of game if & it should never happen 3RD Time game over forfeit by team who's player hit pitcher. Thos guys have got to be protected. We play with a screen,has saved a lot of guy's from injury. |
