Dec. 25, 2011 GSWP001 | Topic: Rules of the game Discussion: Ever Been Personally Polled Been playing senior softball since 1998 and do not remember ever being polled about anything. We seem to just get told this is it and if you don't like it then either accept it or leave. Not that I find the rules are all that bad. Actually like most of them. I think that most have had thought put into them and a good reason for implemation. |
Dec. 25, 2011 GSWP001 | Topic: General and miscellaneous Discussion: For the guys who still play with the kids....... coop3636. Thanks for the offer. I'm in olympia, WA. Where are you at? There a about 4 or 5 of us that play and are always willing to get a match. Dave |
Dec. 22, 2011 GSWP001 | Topic: General and miscellaneous Discussion: For the guys who still play with the kids....... Hey Shane, come and play doubles raquetball with us. You'll get contact and hit with the ball also. Makes you learn to be quicker. Dave P. |

Dec. 16, 2011 GSWP001 | Topic: General and miscellaneous Discussion: Fortunate steve65. I do just about the same thing. Am amazed that I'm not in the obits yet. I to love the game, even with it's so called many flaws. Thanks for the great post. Hope no one decides to argue as to our enjoyment. |
Oct. 18, 2011 GSWP001 | Topic: General and miscellaneous Discussion: Observation Gary19. Just from my experience the response from the younger crowd is that they are amazed and and awed at how well we do for our age. Don't seem to recall any comments as to the rules. I constantly run into "kids" who would like to play "our" game. Especially the 40 y.o's that know soon it will happen. |
Oct. 4, 2011 GSWP001 | Topic: Tournaments Discussion: Phoenix James and Shane. Good luck. Dave P. |
Oct. 3, 2011 GSWP001 | Topic: Rules of the game Discussion: Yearly Player Poll I think it is a good idea. I would suggest though that it be kept to a yes, no forum. If input was needed as to more questions then that could be directed through the SSUSA email. Otherwise we would have a mile long thread with a lot of overstated opinions. JMO. |
Sept. 15, 2011 GSWP001 | Topic: Bats Discussion: worth bats My coplayer and manager uses one. he loves it. 26oz. It is strictly a game day bat according to him. Serious hitters could shorten the life with bp. |
Sept. 9, 2011 GSWP001 | Topic: General and miscellaneous Discussion: Anyone Alive In Washington State? Webbie25. Don't listen to him. We played weds night and we couldn't get it by him at second. Hits the ball a ton also. Ball kept coming back with green paint on it from the fence..........lol |
Sept. 1, 2011 GSWP001 | Topic: General and miscellaneous Discussion: Age Brackets & Divisions I agree with Duke. As soon I reached 60 the play changed and now that I'm 65 it has really changed. 57 to 63 might work but the 64 to 70 is a big differential. Not sure what the answer is though. Maybe an in team review of talent with a waiver to go up in age bracket. I relize that it would pretty much be on the honor system, but as adults I think it could happen. It does seem like with the bracketing we have now alot of teams are locked in to high because of past performance and the review does not happen soon enough. Tends to make for some long hard seasons. |
Aug. 26, 2011 GSWP001 | Topic: General and miscellaneous Discussion: We're simply amazed it's come to this... It is enough that SSUSA has stated and did what they must, but for us to comment anymore is fanning the flames also. Let it lie. |
Aug. 22, 2011 GSWP001 | Topic: General and miscellaneous Discussion: Character Real Deal, what a great line. I'm like Pricer, I like it. Thanks for sharing. |
Aug. 19, 2011 GSWP001 | Topic: Bats Discussion: On My Honor 2 Thanks Einstein, you don't even know me and yet I get lumped in with cloven feet and horns. Speaks alot of your issues. Just because I took the pledge and you didn't I did not drop to slander and bad taste. Maybe you should rethink your words before printing them. |
Aug. 18, 2011 GSWP001 | Topic: Bats Discussion: On My Honor 2 In all the tournaments I've been to I can only remember bats being checked once. On the second day the had them back on the field and the umps never cared. Do you really think that the power that be want to get into this. It is too large for them to handle. Not enough enforcement to be had. It seems our only recourse is personal involvement. Therefore this honor oath is very important. I feel sorry for the ones who cannot self impose it. July 27, 2011 GSWP001 | Topic: General and miscellaneous Discussion: What Define a Major Plus Player, a Major Player and a AAA player and Who rates Them If you jump up in a new age bracket doesn't that allow you to be rerated? IE. .. I turned 65 and am allowed to play AA when I was AAA in the 60's. |
