Shouldn't have a problem finding a SS in Calif., Everything I read on this site indicates the best players in the world come from there.

Discussion: Major+ Equalizer - What do you think?

Last year, powers to be changed the HR rule to try and equalize teams ,in order to get more teams for the Major Plus to beat up on.Then they re-classified teams, moving many of them up to Major and Major Plus ,that did not belong there. Again, just to get more teams in the Major/Major Plus divisions. Now,we are discussing to make changes just to give these teams more runs ,needed to compete with Major/Major Plus and make the final scores LOOK like these teams can be competitive. Being that bitching about the HR rule is now not an option ,now we discuss runs scored.
Classifications should be determined by talent and skill level, not by giving runs to equalize or by taking away HR's like they did last year. There should have not been any rule changes last year,This association and people on this message board ,keep bringing up the idea's of changes to the rules and how the game should be played, when they should just leave a good thing alone and quit trying to change something that's not broke.Looks like alot of these post are just for people who enjoy seeing their name on the board, and think they have to comment on every little post.It would be different if they really had an input to help the game, but they just comment to comment as if we really cared for their every little thought.

How would it be any more cost effective for the teams WEST of Illinois having the tournament in Champaign? If talking a MIDWEST Nat., KC is the most central location with plenty of fields at one location.

Discussion: Ratings-div-ages & long comment

Ratings are for equalizing teams within the same talent level, not trying to get the same number of teams in each division. As the skill level decreases from major plus, major, AAA and AA ,it only is common sense their will be more teams in those divisions, there are only so many major plus players to go around. As skill level decreases ,there will be more teams in those divisions. It does not make sense to try equalizing number of teams in divisions just for the big boy's to have someone to beat up on. It is fun to win a few games once in a while.I haven't read any proposals about giving runs to the lower skilled teams for equalization.

Discussion: POSSIBLE COMPROMISE ON NEW HR RULE.

Lets try this , I know this won't agree with everyone and probably room for improvement: How about this ,the offense has hit their limit,on the next HR, the defensive team then gets a choice of taking an out ,or taking a run.If they elect taking a run,the batter gets a walk, and any runners can only advance by the walk.

That is probably a good decision on his part, as he might find some teams that didn't attend the St Louis tournament last year .When making plans for tyour tournaments this year ,I would hope teams keep in mind the decisions that were made at last years ISA World.

Discussion: Yellow Macenko VS Grey Combat

I can't speak for the MM , but I and others on our team purchased gray senior combats when they came out, and we had 3 break this year,They were advertised as having more durability than the Ultra II,They weren't out long enough to really claim that ,but they did.I bought a blue senior combat for batting practice so I could use the gray in tournaments, (they are the same bat, the gray broke and the blue is still going strong. I also use an Ultra II with ASA stamp for Major tournaments, it also is still going strong , Bottom line, the gray combat is no more durable than the Ultra II ,and my guess, the Macenko won't be either . As everything is compared to the Ultra II , why not buy it, as durability is not an issue as these new bats claim .

I am looking to trade a 27oz EL ,13in barrel Macenko for a new or like new Gray Senior Combat 26oz EL. I have only hit 2 1/2 buckets of balls (less than 60 bp hits)No scratches or marks, this bat hasn't even been layed on dirt yet.
