Rules are rules but you need to revisit rules when the rules proclude a member from playing the game at any level because of geography. I also thought that the exemption rules was going to be resinded by this association and others.

Discussion: Any new teams for 2005

Jah #4" i chatted with Bruce yesterday and he mentioned the additions and merger. You guys will be stronger and we welcome your challenge. I saw that Mission Softball seems to have gone to 55 major plus for 2005. What have you heard about the Calif Rebels and any other 50+ major team for 2005?

Discussion: SPA New Rule for Major Plus Teams

Tater: do you know if this exemption rule is further clarified that the "Mississippi" major + player can play on a team from North Carolina only if Mississippi does not have a major + team for him to play on or does that not matter? Curious as to the interruptation of this rule.

Discussion: Pitch Count

I play in a league in CT that starts with a 1-1- count but allows one foul ball after the second strike, so only one pitch is saved per batter potentially. What we find is that if the batter gets a second strike early in the count or if a batter doesn't like to hit with 2 strikes on him then the batter gets anxious and swings at pitches earlier in the count than usual. We don't find that the rule actully cuts down too much on the actual playing time. Hustling on and off the field, having pinch runners ready and no warm ups or infield ball between innings save more time than the count.

Discussion: Ken Maas

On behalf of the entire Thermco/CT Sportsplex team, please Shirley, accept our condolences for your personnal loss. Ken was a true senior softball ambassadore. He always made himself available to speak with and truley listened to what the players and managers had to say. As a team we played in 2 of his world championships and found the unique format and philosopy of his championships something that we enjoyed participating in. Shirley, our thoughts and prayers are with you, we all will miss this great man. Thermco/CT Sportsplex 50 major +
