Jose AKA Salsa Kid. HEMET: Yes the city sucks but did You know, Maybe not? Saboba Casino and resort just opened thier brand new 6 story hotel and casino. Check out the pics. Quoting prices for rooms at $99 www.Saboba.com It's about 20 min from the fields depending the day and time. Maybe check it out and correct your math? Golf course is really challenging too. As an alternative a lot of people stay in Temecula and Murrieta. Lots of great accommodations not far from the fields. Just take winchester south off Domenigoni.(W) No need to get on the freeway.

Probably looking for "integrate": combine (one thing) with another so that they become a whole: to unite or combine.

December 2-3 BLD Perris CA

Before I start I want to thank all the people involved in putting on this tournament. My staff... Tom, Rodney and all the umpires. My two granddaughters that helped out both days. All of are a much needed addition to this organization. I couldn't do this tournament without you. You are to be congratulated at every level. We had 38 teams on 6 fields for two days. That computed to 95 games. (and a very late night on Saturday) It would be a logistical nightmare for one individual. Thank you, all of you.

In the end the enormous generosity of our senior guys donated over 500 toys for the United Way of Hemet Valley. There are not enough words to covey my gratitude to you guys. You are the very best! Because of you a lot of underprivileged boys and girls will have a much brighter Christmas again this year. Merry Christmas to all of you and your family.

Discussion: SCSSA 7th Annual "Toys for Kids" Tournament 12/2 12/3

SCSSA is pleased to announce the seventh annual Toys for Kids benefit tournament at BLD in Perris CA. December 2nd and 3rd 2017. Registration is (as of this writing) 60% sold out so if you want in please contact me ASAP. Flyer: http://www.socalssa.com/flyer-4.html This is always a fun tournament but more important are the toys for the underprivileged kids in our local area. Each year we seem to outdo ourselves. Last year the United Way had to make Three trips to take away the toys. Our seniors or so giving. You guys make me so proud to know how well you support this worthy cause.

God Bless you

Discussion: Tune up for Phoenix - SCSSA one day tournament OCT 14th

We Have moved this date... When I sat down to request dates for this year last June I looked at the 28th of Oct. I checked back and attendance was between 16 and 19 teams over the last 3 years. In an effort to increase team attendance I asked to move the tournament one week later or earlier. Later was not available as all fields at Diamond Valley are rented in November. One week earlier was not available either. So I took the 14th. Sign ups have been less than spectacular so I decided to move it back to the 28th. Lucky for me the 28th was still available.
Deadline for RSVP will be the 20th. Those that have RSVP'd I will keep you on the list. You tell me if you want to be removed.

Hopefully the new date will give other teams an incentive to join us for this one day'r. I will after posting this change the flyer on the web site

Reminder: This is also the kick off for the new Five Star Challenge 2018

Thanks

I sell these http://www.socalssa.com/scssa-gear.html Price is $20 not $23. Come by the tent Oct 14th. I usually have 5 or 6 pairs until they sell out. Very popular. I use them for second base. Don't loose pop ups in the sun anymore. Great filter for batting into the sun too.

Discussion: Field, etc. Problems

San Clemente: The water fountains are on the upper level next to the Men's room and ladies room. As for field prep. The City provides only one field prep in the morning on all fields. That's it!! That's because a maintenance company is sub contracted. When we are there in July we hire out that maintenance company as a separate cost and pay them cash each day. Rarely are the fields NOT prepped between games. And sometime during the day the fields are watered down. The guys do a great job. We get similar service from BLD and Diamond Valley in Hemet. Regarding BLD we have had great luck with the managers at BLD Perris. If and when we have a base issue (or pot hole) its corrected immediately. Setting up a line of communications with the park managers is key for us. Especially Tom at BLD. In Hemet my only complaint is the morning crew has a habit of not unlocking the Men's and Lady's rooms. I have to chase them down and ask. Its like this: The squeaky wheel will always get the grease.

BTW you can bring water into BLD and San Clemente.

Have a good one

Discussion: Trump ball used in Reno - 40 Major plus

Foothills: I disagree with your analysis. I belive its 5 lbs for every 5 degrees. However you must realize the rating on the ball is incorrect. The developer of the ball, when employed at Anaconda, told me once that the inner core is closer to 500 compression rather than 375. The ball was designed with a double cover to fool the original ASA compression test equipment. If you dont believe me cut a couple of balls in half. One ISA ROCK and the SSUSA Stote. Use a band saw as we did. Then just do a simple fingernail test. Try to gouge the core on each with the thumb nail. Then decide which is more dense. We did this once with a few 375/44 balls. Though not scientific most all reacted similarly to the gouge test.

Discussion: Results of the SCSSA Spring Challenge May 6-7 BLD Perris

The odd thing about this tournament was it was suppose to rain Saturday and Sunday. Well... in keeping with my ability to single highhandedly end the California drought by scheduling tournaments it did rain! But it didn't rain in Perris. More specifically at BLD in Perris. Its poured in some places like San Diego and Orange County but not at BLD. It really turned out to be a great softball weekend for the 26 teams that participated. Thanks once again to the teams that support our program and to the managers and employees at BLD for all you do for us when we are there.

Discussion: Results of the SCSSA Don Ruddell Memorial Tournament March 11-12

First I need to thank everyone for the support and encouragement you gave me and my family this last weekend. This was our second annual memorial tournament to honor the memory of my son who past away at the age of 46 last year. We do it as fund raiser for his surviving children that are without thier dad. I cant begin to say how much I appreciate all the donations and the expressions of love you guys shared over the last two days. My granddaughters, I know will love the gifts you have shared. They told me they feel a strong presents of thier dad when they are there. "Hanging with the guys knowing many knew our dad. Its like we have 300 more grandpas" Oh from the mouths of babes. Love you guys!

This was a gorgeous weekend for softball. Temps in the mid 80s. Mild breezes and clear sky's. We thank each and everyone that participates in these tournaments. God bless all 36 teams that showed up at the two day event. Special shout out to the 40 Ladies for participating this weekend as well. Hope to see you all again real soon.

Finally: Sunday we lent out our pitching screen for the teams on field 6. This was intended for the first game only because of sun concerns for the pitchers. As Murphy's Law requires we forgot to retrieve it. Now it is missing. Somebody inadvertently carried it off as its not at the park. Its the standard pitching net from the Pitch Safe in Florida. Instead of the drab green box I painted it black. In the center is our SCSSA red, white and Blue sticker. If you know of its whereabouts please let us know.

Teams on field 6 Sunday: Nighthawks, Top Gun Elite, Oxnard Rookies, Advil Knights, Kamikaze 55, Demolition and Lights Out 55
