Guys, Steve is being his usual humble self. But he is an absolute masher and would be a great addition to anyone's tournament team. He has been shown on tv and has numerous youtube videos out there that show off his crazy batting skills. By the way, Steve, this is Joe who is trying to recruit you for Thursday nights in Richardson.

Gale, after reading your original post, I wish that the tournament had given out punctuation and grammar as a second place prize.

Sooner Shortstop, I just sent you an email.

TexasTransplant, I'm from the Dawgs team. I know just about all of the guys from the Rowdies. Last year was my first year in the league and I had a great time, but a couple of us are putting together what we hope will be a little better quality team for Thursdays.

Discussion: 45+ Looking For Tournament Team

I just turned 45 this year and I play league ball in the Dallas area two nights per week. I'd like to expand into playing some tournament ball as well. I throw left handed, bat right handed. Very solid fielder with a decent glove, good speed. I have decent power but am more of a line drive hitter (.584 avg in league so far this season). If anyone needs a tourney player for 45+, let me know.

Discussion: In Appreciation of Senior Softball

Newcomer to the Board here. I apologize if this post is lengthy. I just want to express my appreciation for the sport of Senior Softball. I grew up watching my dad play senior ball back when "senior softball" was in its infancy in the early 1980s. Now I'm in my first year of playing senior ball myself in Dallas, TX. Thankfully, our league starts at 45+ so I barely qualify. I could still play with the "youngsters" but I have grown tired of their attitudes and big mouths. You can imagine what a great surprise my first year in senior ball has been. The quality of ball is pretty good. But even more importantly, what a great group of guys! I joke around with and get along with opposing players just as well as my own teammates. I have found senior softball players to be classy, good sportsmen, and great competitors who still have a will to win, but don't let that get in the way of the main objective of having fun. I just wish my dad was still around to see me following in his senior softball footsteps. In closing, thanks to all of you senior softball fellas for creating a wonderful atmosphere that I hope to participate in for many years to come.
