Jan. 12, 2013 lemons | Topic: General and miscellaneous Discussion: rotator cuff rehab Happy New Year Harry, I hope your rehab continues to go well. I also hope that Jim White will slow down a little at work and come to all of our tournaments. Best wishes to you and Terri, Mel |

Jan. 6, 2013 lemons | Topic: General and miscellaneous Discussion: Indiana Senior Softball Saddened Indiana Senior Softball, and by extension all of Senior Softball is saddened by the loss of David "Mac" McCormack. Mac played 3rd base for many years with the Indy Fog and we will all miss him. He passed away last Thursday. Thanks for your prayers for his family and friends, Mel |
Sept. 8, 2012 lemons | Topic: General and miscellaneous Discussion: Meniscus Surgery Recovery Time? 17Black, The key seems to me to be the "lots of arthritis." The surgeon can fix the meniscus just fine, as he did when I had mine done, but shortly thereafter, I began to have pain that he explained away as arthritis. Now he's encouraging me to consider replacement..............guess that's their bread and butter. Good luck with yours, Mel |
Aug. 10, 2012 lemons | Topic: General and miscellaneous Discussion: Please pray for Steve Simmons Steve's friends in Indiana send along their prayers for his recovery. With or without softball, his grandchildren should have the opportunity to continue to enjoy his companionship. |
Aug. 7, 2012 lemons | Topic: General and miscellaneous Discussion: Please pray for Steve Simmons Dave & Fran, May you find a little comfort in knowing that all of your softball friends from Indiana are thinking of you and praying for your family. Mel |
June 5, 2012 lemons | Topic: General and miscellaneous Discussion: Reumofan Plus Alert taits, his definition of contaminants includes dirt, sawdust, and other nonconsequential "fillers." rtaven, It works for me and several of my teammates as well. Regards, Mel |
June 4, 2012 lemons | Topic: General and miscellaneous Discussion: Reumofan Plus Alert I failed to mention that my son, a pharmacist, commented that he would be more concerned if there were contaminants in the tablets. |
June 4, 2012 lemons | Topic: General and miscellaneous Discussion: Reumofan Plus Alert Mexican health officials have issued a recall for Reumofan Plus based on potentially harmful pharmaceutical ingredients. The U.S. FDA conducted a test on the ingredients of Reumofan Plus and found diclofenac sodium (a prescription NSAID, similar to but stronger than ibuprofen) and methocarbamol (a prescription muscle relaxant). Neither of these is intended for long term use and both can have harmful interactions with current medications. Both of these ingredients are available through doctors' prescriptions. Having taken Reumofan Plus for a short while and been amazed at its effects, I will continue to use it only on game days or during tournaments and not daily. If you have taken Reumofan Plus for a period of time, The FDA suggests that you confer with your doctor to implement a gradual withdrawal since some of the lots may have contained cortisteroids as well. I guess there's no miracle cure for arthritis of the knee after all. To your health, Mel |
May 17, 2012 lemons | Topic: Tournaments Discussion: Jimmy Clark Memorial Hey John, I just got home from playing in a league and as soon as I saw your message, I called our coach and left him a message asking him what is going on? I think our team would like to play if there are 3 other 65+ teams, but it's the coach and manager's call. Thanks for the info and maybe we'll see you there, Mel |
May 17, 2012 lemons | Topic: Tournaments Discussion: Jimmy Clark Memorial The US.Jobs/Indy 65's had planned to play in this tournament, but apparently not enough 65+ teams have entered and we didn't want to get caught up in playing mixed divisions. Wonder where all the 65+ teams are playing? Thanks, Mel |
May 7, 2012 lemons | Topic: General and miscellaneous Discussion: Brickyard One of the things I looked forward to when I turned 65 was not having to pay "gate admission" anymore. This is the first time I can remember that Midwest has charged 65+ players. I will never agree with parks charging high fees for leagues and tournaments and then charging the players on the teams that paid those fees admission so that they can compete in a league or tournament for which their team has already paid. |
May 7, 2012 lemons | Topic: General and miscellaneous Discussion: Brickyard I (we) didn't pay to watch ourselves when we were young. There were always player passes. The $3 fee to get into the park was absolutely ridiculous. It was nice to visit with Dave Dowell again and see lots of our softball buddies. |
April 16, 2012 lemons | Topic: Tournaments Discussion: Brickyard 2012 Hi Steven, Please accept my personal congratulations on your induction. I'm playing with The US.Jobs 65's this year, and I'm not sure if we're coming to Reno or Las Vegas yet. Are you planning any trips in this direction? Warmest regards, Mel |
April 16, 2012 lemons | Topic: Tournaments Discussion: Brickyard 2012 Anything on the specific dates, times, and entrants for the various divisions? I can't imagine Butch not smoking......good for him! Thanks, Mel |
April 14, 2012 lemons | Topic: General and miscellaneous Discussion: Arthitis As a matter of fact, it's ingredients are purported to lower blood pressure...........but check it out to be sure. |
April 14, 2012 lemons | Topic: General and miscellaneous Discussion: Arthritis papaw (aren't we all?), Reumofan Plus is available through Amazon.com. It seems to be helping me with my arthritis of the knee. Regards, Mel |
April 14, 2012 lemons | Topic: General and miscellaneous Discussion: Arthritis pain remedies hombre, I couldn't find the blog and am assuming (a bad idea, I know) that some of your post was from the blog. I appreciate everyone's input and experiences and, like most others, will still make up my own mind after doing due diligence. Thanks and have a great season, Mel |
April 13, 2012 lemons | Topic: General and miscellaneous Discussion: Arthritis pain remedies hombre (and others), Since I have been using Reumofan Plus in a limited dosage....one a day, and skip some days, I have been more comfortable than in years. I appreciate all of the input and will even try some of the other suggested remedies if necessary. Perhaps I'm experiencing a psychosematic improvement, but it seems to work for me. Thanks for all of the information and let's Play Ball! Mel |
April 12, 2012 lemons | Topic: General and miscellaneous Discussion: Arthritis pain remedies Thanks Capt., This provides more valuable information for those of us who love playing and will continue with or without pain-----without is much better. Regards, Mel |
