Neck 10 ,tenatively we will be in the Major , not Major Plus...We lost our outfield . I think you have our left fielder , Dave . Got in touch w/him too late.Decided we could not find enough AAA's to stay AAA...

Neck 10 , "Expert Car Care" may come & step up in the 55 Major. Best 55 AAA (our opinion) in the nation. Never lost a game. 11-0....SSUSA Winter Nat'l Ft Myers 2011 & Heartland Nat'l Champs Chattanoga 2011 , both 55 AAA.....WE are a team like "Kendrick". Friends that get together a couple of times a year.

Ride my Harley more . And , shoot pool . Gym wise , I think for sure I would still go . But , probably not as much & I doubt if I would include the "cable" workouts for hitting.

Steve , ol' boy , it appears that U have opened a can of worms. Wow , you really got'em stirred up. Back to your subject , 30 yrs ago , when I started playing 35 & over . I never dreamed that I would be still doing it at 65. It just that things progress & you roll w/the flow. I was still playing Industrial ball in my 40's & then I discovered Senior Softball, just when I thought it was all over I play 55 & 65. And if it was'nt for the CR , I probably could'nt play at all. One total knee & probably looking at the other soon....A 55 aaa team in Ohio wants me to go "one more time",next season w/them . Sloball & Bullet are behind it...."Long Live the Courtesy Runner"....Gman

Discussion: TOC Roster addition question

LP , I think what Mad Dog is saying, is that "yes , we had to wait 14 months for the TOC. During that time (14 months) , teams like Expert Car Care (5 states), or any other team as far as that goes , can go through a merriad of roster changes. 14 months is a long time . A # of issues can be factored in (mostly health wise). We dont exactly " live forever ", or be able to " still run around the block ".......And , the weather in Florida the last 2 February's , was very, very uncoperative......Then again , time frame wise ,if it was held in November, the teams that Qualified in October would be playing again in just a few short weeks , unkind to
the teams that qualified 12 months prior....Bottom line , my vote is DECEMBER , no chance of bad weather & timely for all....P.S. , the northern & mid-west teams could still keep their "stroke".instead of "guessing" in February.

Discussion: TOC Roster addition question

SSUSA , I need an answer to a question that a lot of people would like to know , including myself. We are "trying" to regroup our team for the TOC (Expert Car Care-55 AAA). We only had 15 on the roster, including the coach. 5 guys cant go. Now , I know that you can only add 60 yr. old's to a 55 roster. We have 2 guys that will be 60 in 2012 . The tournament will be in 2012 . Is this OK ?

65 aa won by Silver Sticks Indiana. I was a part of this team. Things looked awfully gloomy going into the 2nd day. We had lost both seeding games & the 2nd game in the D.E. Two starters, that had not yet played at all because of some injuries, felt good enough to start playing. We won the next 5 in a row & got to the "loser bracket final". This game was won by us with a 4-0 "SHUTOUT". Now the plot thickens. We force an if game by winning over an excellent "RIP" team from Boston 12-8.....NOW . "RIP" states that the will have to forfeit the "if" game. 4 players from RIP have flight reservations to go home. Sorry for the "RIP" team to lose in that manor. Some people say that they should have given more thought when making their flight plans......Also the weather played a huge factor , as much ironically as I have never seen before. The wind blew strongly in from right. I call it a "1st to 3rd" cross wind. Then the late day sun rose in dead centerfield. It was right in the batters eyes. There were at least 4 strike outs on RIP's team in the final 2 innings........Also , in the 60aa. A good Kentuckyanna team won that one.

Discussion: WELL THEN, WHAT ABOUT 60'S AAA; WHO's THE BEST?

SENIOR MOMENTS gets my vote as the best 60 aaa team I have seen this year. They went up against, recently moved to 55 major, Expert Cars at the Heartland in Chatta. Tn... Senior Moments jumped all over Expert in the early innings, resulting in a 12-3,3rd inning lead. Then Experts speed , defense & power began to overwhelm the older guys, resulting in a 38-19 loss for the gentlemen from Florida, but the showed a tremendous amount of heart & ability against their younger adversaries.

Seems to me , as well as I can recall, that in "young ball",ASA Mens Major has a HR limit of 10 or 12. And the annual game between USA & Canada has a simiilar HR limit also....point to ponder.

Discussion: We're simply amazed it's come to this...

Sorry Tim , your "vast majority" doesnt prevail in the midwest or the east. And further more we dont lose "nothing"..... We gain , & what we gain is an open msg board , shared by guys that can carry on a mature , normal , low key agreeable , some times mildly debateable ,topics of otherwise logical , of senior softball ins & outs, & subjects that interest players of "various classifications" and not just those of a non defensive,nomadic,t-shirt collecting, "one hit wonder", probably, deep down, a "GOOD OLE BOY", with a big heart & very loveable to those that know him personably, and to those that dont, he can become an invasive figure on an avenue , where we all share our personal opinions & thoughts, in a non-invasive dialog . I just cant help remembering the "Ricki Lake" national talk show incident a few years back & what it resulted in & how it started so innocently.

Sometimes its 4 balls & 3 strikes & you're out....and sometimes its 3 balls & 2 STRIKES & you are OUT....SSUSA,cant you tell that a lot of guys that live all across this great "Senior Softball" nation are "sick & tired" of reading that assine crap that "YOU" allow to be posted almost daily on "YOUR",or better yet,"OUR MSG BOARD"...."STOP THE INSANITY ", please !

Discussion: Less Than A Month Until Dalton

Yea, I getting ready to pack. I mean going to this tourney is like going to Europe. Four days of playing from start to finish. Two days of playing 4 games, costing each team thousands of extra $$$, not to mention being away from home & their business's. Then 2 more days of the all important " double elemination ". When we used to go to Plano, we left (driving)on Wed. & returned home on Mon..... I'll tell you what guys, & this is just my personal opinion. I liked it better when I was in my younger days, going to a real double elemation "World Tournament". You paid about $250,took your chances, played Fri, Sat & Sun if you made the final 4....Yes , some of you guys say you like the seeding games & having the opportunity to play some teams that you have never played before. Yea, that is great....But i will leave you with one last thought," how many times have starting players pulled hamstrings, calf muscles, back strain , etc.,etc.,etc.,& not be able to play or be "up to par" on Sunday,(should you make it that far)because they got injured , hustling & playing their butt off in a seeding game?....A "Point To Ponder", When I was younger & in "tip top shape", we played the required amount of games it took to get through a 20-30 team "World" ,double elemination tournament, hoping that no one got hurt.......NOW , you are over 50,60,65.70.75&80, & playing all of these "extra" games & guys are getting hurt for various reasons in the seeding games & they are not up to par (because they hustled & play their ass off") should their team get near the "Finals" & CANT HELP THEM.....Been there & done that....Just my opinion & I know it won't matter a "Hill Of Beans"....

Discussion: Heartland

Went to the Heartland. Had a great time. Some of the more formidable teams I saw there were Kinnco, Stancil's, Mo-town, Snakes / B&o, Expert Car Care, Docs ,Rose Enterprise, Senior Moments. They had a HOF plaque for Bruce In Ga., but I dont think he was there to receive it....Sure there were a few setbacks, but that always happens. Look forward to next year. Will go back.
