After playing both of these teams this year...and getting handled very easily by both, I wish I could have seen this matchup.

How did the game go? What was the final score?

Timmy...call it what you want, it makes no difference to me.

I was only going on what you had posted...your words not mine.

"SSUSA how can we get reclassed? MTC 50 2014 major Plus
I heard tonight that the Warriors 2014 team was reclassed down to 50 major and I was wondering how our MTC 50 Plus team that didn't win a game in two consecutive years of major plus Double elim brackets at Plus worlds can get reclassed to 50 majors also.
The Warriors faired better then us at last years world and placed higher then we ever did at 50 Plus World and rock and roll Reno.
How do we get reclassed down? Who does our 2014 MTC Plus team contact?

Looks like you found out the answer to your original question Tim...good luck in your new reclassed division.

Bull Durham is a very accurate movie of the minor leagues...it was a blast to watch and relive some of those things.

Sandlot was an amazing movie that took us all back to our childhood days of playing baseball with our friends.

These two are tops in my book.

No worries Benji, I have nothing against teams with great sponsors, I'm envious.

You have to admit though, it is much easier to put together a top caliber team with that great sponsorship.

I would be willing to bet that the best teams in Plus softball have always been well sponsored. I'm OK with that, it is what it is...personally I love playing against you guys...I do get carried away with my competitiveness sometimes, but's it's all done out of me wanting to win...especially against the best.

Just curious Benji...how many of the current players on your roster would still be playing on your team if it didn't have the sponsorhip $$ it does?

In my mind, the real difference in good Major Plus teams and Good Major teams, forced to play Plus ball...is the money. Would your players pay to play...and pay for their own uniforms, travel expenses and other incentives??

----"This year's convention is in Reno from December 1-4, 2015 ... ALL Rules Committee sessions are open to the public and you are welcome to participate"----

Interesting, this would be good to attend, will there be an agenda published?

Hmmm....very interesting. Miken needs to step it up if they want to keep up with Dudley, as they are running away with the Senior Softball market right now.

Maurice, I didn't say won loss record, I said "final Standings"

Take for instance the Reno tournament you mentioned...you say we beat every other team in the bracket...but just who were those teams? There were only 4 teams in the bracket...so we beat:
1. East Bay Oldies (we play all the time in Nor Cal)
2. Nazareno
I believe all those wins were very close games...and I also believe Nazareno wasn't at full strength.

Then there was Western Nationals, where we took 2nd place by default...as there was only 2 Major Plus teams...and oh by the way we went 0-5 and lost to 3 Major teams in that very same tournament.

As for the Worlds LAST YEAR...well I don't recall exactly, but I think we went 2-2 and our 2 wins were also very, very close.

So as you can see, there are lots of other circumstances that come into play than just looking at the final standings.

Thanks for your concern Maurice...but the Warriors are just fine health wise.
You really should get more information though before judging how and where a team should be rated...not just looking at standings in any given tournament.

Good Luck E6...our team got bumped last year from Major to Major Plus around this time...we had to play from that point on...including Worlds in Las Vegas...as Major Plus.

I'm still coming around slowly, but now it seems I have to retrain everything.

This video will help...Thanks for the post.

Discussion: So the question was....how to get more teams to play Major Plus

I believe the HR rule (outs) last year helped to bring the rest of the pack into the mix.
Keeping this rule intact is a good start.

Good Major teams were able to compete with the Major+, given the HR Rules.

Another idea is to limit the Courtesy runners to one per inning.
These two ideas alone can help more teams compete with Athleticism and balanced rosters.

Of course the rich well sponsored teams will always be elite, it's that money that hurts the rest of the teams.

Had a guy that was going to come play with us last season, good player, good guy, then he got approached by a sponsored team who promised him they would pay for everything...how can you compete with that? These same teams are constantly approaching and actively recruiting other players, even during games. It makes it hard when your team is mostly self sponsored.

But to answer your question:

1. Keep the HR outs rule the same
2. 1 courtesy runner per inning only.

One courtesy runner per inning...that's it.
