I will be playing this year with a 60 Major + team. I've played with the same team when we were 55's, but know I turn 60 & I can join my friends again. I helped coach this team at the Worlds in Vegas this past year. We hit together 2-3 times a week. Our team never hit there limit of home runs in any SSUSA tournament last year. Our team wins with speed & defense. Novel thought.

There are some people, that express there opinions, that are using shaved senior bats. They need to be weeded out. I hit my fair share of home runs, but at my age they don't come as frequently as they did as when I was 50.

Ego's. Don't we all have them? But Steve Imlay an egomaniac? You obviously don't know him. I've played against him now for 10 years. He has worked harder at his game than anyone I know. I use to love seeing him come to the plate, but not anymore. When you lift for 1 1/2 hours a day & hit as much batting practice as he does, it doesn't matter what bat he uses.

This year I'll be wearing shin guards & a face mask, for the first time ever. Do I fear senior bats? Not at all. I fear idiots that think they need altered senior bats. I played with a 50's AAA team in the Winter World & got drilled by a big guy using a questionable bat. That I have a problem with.

As long as we all use the same equipment, Who cares. If you don't like it. Don't play! That's what's so wonderful about our country. You always have a choice.
Merry Christmas to all

Thanks for the update & responding to my text today. The bat I returned to Reebok was definitely the hottest bat, from the get go, that I have ever hit. I got one of the first Barrages & was hitting home runs within the first 15 swings. I'm looking forward to only carrying the Barrage in my bat bag for next year. Thanks for you help getting my broken Barrage replaced.

2. So Cal 55's
3. 4Seasons

5. Rio Grande 55's
6. Fan Grabbers
Double Play was really tough to beat. Almost all of the teams were great to play against.

Discussion: REEBOK BARRAGE vs MIKEN ULTRA 2PIECE MAXLOAD

The Barrage is hot out of the wrapper, but mine broke in 30-40 swings. I sent it back to Reebok R&D, for them to check it out. The said that they will replace it for me. That's all that I can ask.
The 2 piece Miken max-load takes time to break in, mine still isn't as hot as the Reebok Barrage, but it hasn't broken yet either...
The Balanced 2piece Miken break in quicker, but still aren't as hot as the Barrage......

I had a blast playing with 4Seasons 55 Major team. A really great group of guys. We were competitive & were in every game. We finished third & should have done better, but that's why you play every inning, you never know how it will turn out. Thanks to Rick & Carol for putting up with me.... Really great team dinner at Bobby Q's BBQ, great food & service if anyone is ever in Phoenix & looking for a great dining experience.....

I'm turning 60 in 2014, played on Nor Cal Reds 55major team this past season. Reside in Nor Cal. Pitch or 1st base. Played with 650's a good 50 AAA team, after the Reds folded in July. Mark McDaniel. mark00asa@aol.com

Do you need a pitcher/1st baseman. I pitched this year for 55 major team, Nor Cal Reds. Mark McDaniel. mark00asa@aol.com

Discussion: Confused about players joining teams for the Worlds

If teams are short handed, they are able to pick players up. How would you like to be on a team that has lost a few players to injuries & not be able to go to the Worlds, because you were short, lets say a pitcher? There is provisions to pick up player/players to bring your team to a certain level. I believe it is 12 or thirteen. The intent is to not load up a team, but just take a reasonable amount of players, as opposed to dropping out of the tournament.

Discussion: Looking for a 50 or 55 team that needs a pitcher/1st baseman for the worlds in Vegas

I'm looking for a 50 or 55 team that is short a pitcher/1st baseman for the worlds in Vegas. I pitched for the Nor Cal Reds 55 Major team this year. The team has disbanded. I already have a room & plan on going anyway. Feel free to call me. Your team has to be short handed to be able to pick me up.

Discussion: Nor-Cal Reds Men's 55 Major

It is with mixed emotions that I am reporting that today was the last tournament that the Nor-Cal Reds will be playing. We have had a rough year trying to field a 55 Major team. With the limited amount of ball players out there to pick up & the injuries our team incurred, we are folding the team. We petitioned SSUSA to reclassify us, to no avail. We have a great core of ball players. We were in every game we played, but only won 1 bracket game in both SSUSA tournaments that we played, Southwest Nationals & Rock-n-Reno. Both of those tournaments, we had to pick up ex-Reds players that are now playing 60's, just to be able to field a competitive team. if anyone out there is interested in picking up any of our ball players, please feel free to contact me.

Discussion: How can SSUSA possibly reclassify an established Major+ team

The forfeit came well into the game, as Top Gun III was getting beat up pretty badly by Fangrabbers. Top Gun felt that there were a few calls that weren't called fairly & took exception to the umpires on the field, which in turn led to the ejections & subsequent forfeit.
