Discussion: Wishing Mike Kelly the best after his surgery

Thanks to all those who have called, emailed and posted on this board in regards to my recent colon surgery. Glad to say that my dr. reports that he feels he got all the cancer out and on monday i go to see if cheemo is really nessasary in my case or not.
I waited longer then i should have to do the colonoscophy and would advise if i may to all listening to have this procedure done at least 1 time a year if over 50 years of age. If you get it in the polyp stage then you avoid the major surgery, wait until it becomes a tumor and you go under the knive.
I will be bringing the Kelly's Team up to Oregon in early august, Palm Springs and Vegas later September. Hope to see some of you guys there.
Thanks again for all your conerns.

I did not take it wrong at all. I know that with so many different Senior Softball associations and so many with different rules that it is very confusing at times. I do all i can just to keep up with it and make sure our team is within the rules.
Are ya going to Palm Springs or to the USSSA in Salem Oregon.
Let me know
Have a good one

Sorry, missed part of your question.
I based Kelly's out of Nevada for this NSA event by having the Majority of players come from the state of Nevada to be able to go into Utah for a player as well as back into Ca.
Thanks

Hey Gary19, How ya been doing.
The NSA has a 1 player exception for there events along with bordering states so Don Clatterbaugh from Va. was my 1 player exception.
USSSA this year for Major Plus is open Regions, Huntsman is open regions and i believe the rest are states and bordeing states and they might look at the 1 excemption player for next year = maybe???
Is your team going to Palm Springs this year, if yes, i look forward to meeting you there.
Have a god one.

Your sure right about both Don and Bonnie. Both a class act. Bonnie was with us in Las Vegas and i knowing her experience around great teasm and softball in general asked ofr her advice a few times about players and changes.
Clatter was amazing. Wind blowing in at least 25 mph on saturday from center and he still hit 3 out using his stock PST.
Your also right that the Super NSA World is later this year in Rock Hill. This was the NSA Western Worlds but somehow Marty got it to be a ring event in the hopes of drawing more teams which never happened.
We swung all Worth bats and did great but it looks like the majority of teams will be heading to the Ultra 2 events this year with the 1 exception being the Huntsman games.
Good talking to you LL and have a good one.

The whole thing about new steele's bats was a scam and will not happen. It was not William Wallace's fault as he just got some bad information from some guy looking for attention.
Hope that helps

Takes a heartless person to make a rule such as this at any level at this age bracket.
The 1 HR Equalizer and then singles would be the correct call and fair to both teams.
To hit a home run at 65 and be called out??? That just makes no sense at all.
IMO
Good Luck to you.

Thanks for the kind words and i feel the same about you and how you carried yourself on the ballfield.

I find that i now would rather spend more time with the family as well.

I will only invest 5 to 6 weekends to softball next year.

Got some new golf clubs and hope to find a swing to use them with.
hahaha

You said "I am going to bring up that Major and Major Plus should be allow to pickup one player then freeze him so he can not play with any other team in that age group. What do you think about that?"

That is fair enough and would be the right thing to freeze them to that 1 team for the whole year.

IMO
Thanks

USSSA currently uses it and 1 player from anywhere is allowed on your team.
According to USSSA he can not currently be on the USSSA Major player list or be on a USSSA qualified team higher then the B level.
This is long over due in Senior Softball as a whole and would eliminate the need for the so called Snow bird rule which has been taken advantage of for long enough.
You get 1 player from anywhere and we get 1 player from anywhere and it is as fair and even a deal as can be.
Yes it would finally get a guy with no team in his region like Bruce Walker a chance to play again.
Thia can be named the Bring Back Bruce Walker Rule.
Hope that helps.
Thanks

I only wish that you lived close enough to Ca. as i would put you on my team in a heartbeat.
I have a couple of very unselfish players who would rather see a team mate get it more then themselfs so's just to encourage that team mate.
Denny Jones is exactly like that and you sound like that as well.
ASA has always picked them at Nationals and for the first time this year i was part of USSSA picking them in Hutchinson KS.
I picked them for Des Moines and picked it by overall contributions and not just hitting average.
It is a real good feeling for the players chosen and like Gary19 said has been a part of the game forever. It is like an incentive to some to excel even more and if that helps us to be more competitive then it can be a good thing.
IMO
Thanks

Probably nothin harder to do then to get these guys to rate players, it is a huge undertaking.

Maybe it is way easier to just say win and move up???

bases are fine right now.

pitching is fine the way it is.

unlimited rabbits per inning, you can only run 1 time though for someone.

no base stealing

go by current bpf bat list

stagger homre runs ler level of play but never an out, goes to singles after home run limit is met.

Thanks

Discussion: Changes

Stagger the home runs per level.
Major Plus = Unlimited
Major 4 home runs then singles
Triple A 2 home runs then singles
Double A 1 home run then Singles
Ranked players on lower level teams
1. Major can have no more then 2 Major plus players on roster, these players can not be picked up just for worlds and must have played in at least 1 qualifier.

2. Triple A can have no more then 2 Major players on roster, these players can not be picked up just for worlds and must have played in at least 1 qualifier.

3. Double A can have no more then 2 Triple A players on roster, these players can not be picked up just for worlds and must have played in at least 1 qualifier.

Any team that wins any Senior softball worlds or national will be bumped to next highest level starting the next season.

Any team in excess of the alloted number of higher ranked players would be moved up to the approiate level.

ok done deal now lets play some real ball and have fun

Thanks
