Discussion: Stick8 what is the right call?

Stick8 the ball was in fair territory. The runner is new to softball and no one had told him to stand on the foul side of the bag. He put his arm up to protect his face because the ball on the second hop jumped up at him from all the top spin. The ball went off of his arm to the fence at the end of the dugout and may have rolled a few feet past the base at third (outfield side)

Thanks Eddie

Discussion: Stick8 what is the right call?

The other night playing with the kids in the Scottsdale city rec. leauge. I came to bat with the bases loaded and no outs. I hit the first pitch right down the line just on the inside of it. On the balls second hop it jumped up right towards the man on thirds head. He raised his arm up to protect his face and the ball hit him in the forearm and deflected to foul territory. The runner never left the base and was in fair play. I ran to first base but the umpire called dead ball. When I returned to home plate I asked him what his call was. He then went into this big explanation by going down to third base and showing everyone that our runner had jumped of the bag into foul territory and then on his way back to the base he was hit by the ball before he made it back to the base and since he was back in fair play he was out. Well none of us argued with him because we know he is a new ump and his account of what happend was so contrary to what had actually occurred. Stick I would like to know what the call should have been with the ball hitting the runner while he remained on the base in fair ground and then going foul off the runners arm.

Gary C I highly recommend that if you ever git the chance to meet Joe Rinaldi aka Einstein do it. Back in 2009 at Phoenix World Championships I did just that. Like every man Joe does have some falts, but his pluses way surpass them.

Discussion: BORDER RULE

Dbax you are 100% right. If anyone really thinks about closeing the borders of Californa and Florida they would come to the conclusion that the rule would only lower the total number of teams playing! Ed Gorry Fangrabbers/Lonesharks #12

Omar, excellent post! You must be a man of strong character and affable persona, as I know Joe is. I took the time to talk to Joe at last years Phoenix Worlds he is everything you say he is and the "WORLD" would be a better place with more Einsteins and Omars for that matter!

I got to particapate in this bat demo. Johnny Hose is right real solid bat. There were seven or eight of us and we batted twice each with 30 to 35 balls hit per round. The field we were on has a 325 foot fence and there were balls clearing it. I personally feel even with the 400 to 500 hits we put on this bat, I do not think it was fully broken in even after we finished hitting with it. Solid bat I am happy with its performance. Discussion: what will you

I will play Charles Laughton in this one and say hell no I will not play. With the heat out here in Arizona a 275 ball will be more like a pillow fight then a softball game!

Discussion: Where in the SSUSA Rule Book is this one??

If you only look at Pete Rose the baseball player he is a shoe in for the hall. Butt what everyone seems to forget is, Pete and his lawyer proposed his lifetime ban in exchange that MLB never divulge the evidence that they have on him. Things that make you go hmmmm. Does anyone really think he only bet on his team to win!

To who it may concern, I bought this video by Bogie last year. It was the best ten bucks I ever invested in softball! The first tournament I played in after incorporating advice from the video was the Phoenix Worlds. I hit 20 for 24 with 3hrs which for me was extraordinary. Also Einsteins insight on pitchers is worth the money alone

Check the rule book crashing the plate or any base is illegal. The only venue in ball that it is, is MLB. If anyone has bulled over a catcher in softball he is to be called out.If you watched the collage world series last year you would have see this rule inforced.
