Thanks for all your help.. It's looks like there are a few options depending on what your bringing. Protection seems to be the major factor.

What have you found to be the safest way to transport your bats on an airplane

I agree with the concept of a 12 ft. arc ball must land very close to the plate for it to go through the strike zone. With the ball hitting the back of the mat and shorter players you will have to tommy hawk that pitch. Not the intent of the game.If your going to use higher ach pitches make the mat two colored front to back which allows the ump to call a ball when the high arc pitch hits the back color. Keep it 6 to 10, 1-1 and enjoy why we started to play slow pitch softball.

Duke,,,,

As a brand new 52 year old and yet to find or build a team to play senior ball, your article is very inciteful. It's nice to read a positive message with a little unfair truth thrown in. But rules are rules and you have to start somewhere. I have a plane voucher that needs to be used so I thought I would fly down from Michigan to Ft. Meyers and watch to see what it takes to win a Winter National. And just maybe make a contact with a team playing there. Congrats on your Phoenix win!

Discussion: looking for a 50+ team to play with in the huntsman

To late for the huntsman games but am willing to play this fall in another tourny. I played with some good players in Naples last winter and was bombing them out with Ed's U-II. Thanks Ed! Living in Michigan it's hard to stay in game shape after the fall so my time is limited.

I have been told I can play AAA but am rated AA. I played SS and hit top three of line up my whole life. Very team orientated.

I am a middle infielder who can also play outfield with a good infield arm that hits the ball hard. I am living in Michigan and have been rated as a AA player.

Thanks for your input. They must pull the bat apart and remove the rattle and or coat the inside so the layers stay together. I would hate to have the bat come back stiff with no bounce to it and not be able to go back.

I heard from an ASA umpire who went to training this year that if a bat has a rattle it will be deamed illegal.
