480 teams! Has there ever been a tournament this big in any association? There may have been a few things that were not perfect but I believe it was incredibly well run event.

Fabe,
I do remember you saying that about the 50 major. I will also be playing in the 50 major the following weekend. We have two 50 Caliber teams, 1 in the 55 and 1 in the 50, I will be there both weekends.

Fabe,
I will have a new one with me. I will use it during the tournament and you are welcome to swing it. Let me know when you are playing and are hitting, I will show up to see if you want to swing it. I play for 50 Caliber, we play at 7:30 and 10:30 for the seeding games at Desert Breeze Park.

Staff, Regarding the 50 divisions
I see there are 10 - AA teams, 47 - AAA teams, 39 Major Teams and 11 Major Plus teams, but I see Team Cuba on the list and not in the ratings page, what level are they?

A former major league umpire told me he thought he would be safe, but he was not certain. I would think he would be safe as he has already scored, but have not seen anything official on it.

High fly ball to shallow left with 1 out. Runner on 3rd thinks their are 2 outs, he runs home tags the plate, teammates telling him to go back only 1 out. He heads back to 3rd, left fielder does not make the catch, drops the ball....runner headed back to 3rd then turns around to go back home and is thrown out at home. Does the run count because he has already touched home?

If it is the same senior bat they had on sale a year ago, is not even a good practice bat, complete dud.

Do a search on him and it is pretty impressive. I see he also worked for Houdini for 33 years.

Read some of the descriptions, written in very poor English. I would stay away from it.

I am on the 50 group, just found out that there are 6 in the 50 major and it is a straight round robin. It doesn't even seem like a tournament with no bracket play.

I did buy one of the Nutty Buddy as noted in the post above. I played a dbl header today, most comfortable cup I have worn. Seriously if you have trouble with chafing, get one of these.

I went on to the sight and had to order two. Was amusing to see how you order in the different sizes and how they come up with the sizes. I ordered 1 for me, "mango size" and 1 for our manager "mouse size".

Beasley, I did not mean that recruiting was bad in any way at all. I am all for having the best teams compete.

Major plus teams, please correct me if I am wrong, but aren't most major plus teams primarily recruited teams? Recruit from pretty big areas, in many cases throughout the state and often from many different states to make up a team? I am sure there are some teams as thewood puts it that don't have the guts to play up, but in my opinion think that most players do not because they prefer to play with local friends. Lack of "guts" has little if anything to do with it for most.

I do have a suggestion that would strengthen the major and major plus division. Keep the major rules as they are allowing 4 major plus players and allow people to play both major and major plus. That would create 2 to 3 more major plus teams in the midwest. The downside of this for SSUSA would be the scheduling. Would sure make for a bigger national tournament as well.

Beasley, do really think it is always about having "guts" to move up to major plus? As you state in your post, you recruit all over the state of Florida. I am sure that most other major plus teams also recruit all over their state. I do not have a problem with recruiting at all, but do when you claim it is a lack of "guts" as the reason for some teams/players not to move up.
