Discussion: So Cal brackets

YUMA park has already stated that they are not going to charge an entry fee for this weekend. Is SSUSA going to? With no individual awards for winning it I would think they would not...does anyone know?

Dave if there is supposed to be a heat recovery/shelter break on Sat after 2pm game till 6pm then why does the bracket show a 330 game time start for 55maj teams? Or am I reading it wrong?

I had several KEY players that were going to be playing at about 50% in SW in St George, NOW they get a chance to REALLY heal up for when we take the field again! Glad SSUSA made the right call to cancel for 60 days...so ALL team's players can heal up and be ready to go when this crisis is over! We all know at our ages it takes longer, but it will be worth the wait for sure! See you boys on the fields!

dbax, that should not be their decision! Many I have talked to would rather wipe the slate clean and get a refund then start fresh in 60 days or whenever it is deemed safe to continue!

Just wonder if they are going to refund our entry fee or keep it toward future tournaments. They SHOULD refund it...anyone here anything about that? For those that had Air BnB houses rented in St George, they are giving full refunds if you reserved before Mar 14 with a check in before April 14...just access your reservation under "trips" then click on details and it will be right there for you just click on change or cancel reservation and scroll down and hit cancel. Then just send a quick note to your host (it opens a window to do so) on why and you will get a full refund.

According to a buddy of mine who works in Washington, they just came out of a 2 hr meeting and stated that Trump is going to enact the Stafford act within the next 48-72 hrs. This states that the entire nation be quarantined for 2 weeks. Will see if this really happens! I just don't understand when organizations much larger than Senior Softball are completely shutting down...senior leagues, little league, NBA, NCAA, MLB, NHL....why they can't they postpone this tourney until this thing gets under control!!!

Since the tournament fees are going up this year obviously, when can we expect tournament prices to be posted on each tournament so we know what to collect from our players?

Discussion: TOURNEY CREDITS FOR RAINOUTS

This past weekend there was a Senior Tournament in Phoenix Arizona....3 games on Saturday and then rained out on Sunday. 5 game guarantee @ $375 entry fee. When I went to school and college, 375 divided by 5 was 75, has that changed? That would be $75 a game! Why was the only given a $50 credit toward the next tournament when it should have been $150? Looks like someone made some good money on that tourney! It's things like this that give Senior Softball a bad name and referred to by many other organizations as a "money grubbing" association.

From my point of view and the location we were at (Ceazar Chavez Park) the director there did a commendable job! All of the umpiring staff were excellent for the games we had...a few missed calls...but, that goes with the territory! Overall, an excellent, well run, fun tourney! Thanks to all the SSUSA staff...and thanks for the headache of putting together that schedule Dave...not an easy task!
