This new rating appears to have been created solely for the Timberworks 65 team. That is the only reference I can find to this rating. Still, they are listed as Major Plus in the ratings list.
I knew they were good but I was not aware that a new rating had to be created for them!
I can certainly think of other teams that could be justified at the new level since they also win "all the time".

Nancy, you are correct about the SSWS. Ken Maas started the association and passed away in the mid-2000s. His son, Greg, ran it for a year or so before it folded. The Maas's ran a great tournament.

Great bunch of guys on a newly Major-rated team. Need a couple of good defensive players to round out our roster. Larry Lopez

Looks like it’s going to be COLD Thursday and Friday when us old guys (70s) play and even colder for the weekenders! I might even crack a bat in the cold!
We have 4 games on Thursday starting at 8AM with last game scheduled to start at 2. Quite an ambitious schedule first time out!
Good luck everyone and stay healthy!

Hey Doug! Larry Lopez here. I played against you a lot in the 70s, 80s and 90s. I seem to recall you played for Rodney Payne and Stohlmans?
I play d with Federal Wrecking, Morgan & Cheeves, Virginia Pets, Technitrux and Capital X-Ray while living in Virginia. Still see some of your old friends on the tournament trail.
Hope you are doing well.

My condolences to Carey's family. I had the pleasure of playing a season with Carey and can truly say he was a very good player and a better person. He will be missed.

As always, very informative video.
I just cut through the terminology and subscribe to the philosophy of "swing hard in case you hit it"!
Seriously, I have picked up several tips on how to maximize my production and become more repetitive in my swing. It just gets down to getting out and working on these new things until they become second nature!
Thanks Bogie and Steve.

Hey Staks! I'm easy to catch, Billy C is way ahead and Toot is out of my reach! Wish I was still living in Virginia and playing with all you guys on a regular basis.

I see they actually do not play an "if" game. I prefer the way we do it in slow pitch much better. We have a true champion since all other teams have (at least) 2 losses.

So, if South Korea beats Panama they will each have one loss and be 1 and 1 against each other. When would the "if" game be played or do they skip that for some reason?

The Silver Streaks got our game times for Thursday but we have no idea how many teams are in our age bracket nor who they are. Clicking on the Texas Half Century link - as directed - provides absolutely no information about this tournament.

Bob, the Silver Streaks will be there. The tournament is only scheduled for Thursday and Friday.
Since Sacramento is not running this one, there will probably be precious little information disseminated about teams and schedules on this site under the tournament detail.

Well Bob, we don't want us oldsters playing too many games in one day (that's what the company line is selling).
HOWEVER, in the 65 Majors (3 teams) one of the three teams will have to play 4 games between 8AM and 3:30PM on Thursday. Looks like the temps are forecast to be in the mid nineties. So much for that...

I checked the Texas Half Century website and there is no information about this tournament (which starts Thursday) that I can locate. It appears little to no information is being disseminated about any of the 2016 scheduled SSUSA-partnered tournaments.
