Discussion: RECLASSIFYING A TEAM/AND OR PLAYERS

I think swing is correct for this discussion. For sake of illustration , if you are a player that has played on a Major Plus rated team, you carry that personal rating with you for 2 years. If you do not play in a SSUSA tournament during that time, you could still be rated Major Plus beyond that time period. If you play Major during that time period, you will be rated Major beginning anew the following season. The only way to get rerated during this time period, is to get a medical exemption. As a team, SSUSA usually gives you 3 tournaments. The results will determine your correct classification. If you lost most of your games by 5 runs or more, to teams in your same classification, you "might" have a chance of being rerated.

Discussion: New age eligibilty rules for 75s and 80s - Reactions?

As a means of clarification, it looks as if teams in these age groups are limited to 7 younger players, ie. 7, 73 and 74 players for a 75 team. Can it be a mix of these ages? For instance, 6 73's and 1 74? What about player ratings? Could a Major plus 70 player, join a 75 AAA team?

Discussion: Miken Ultra II vs Dudley Lightning

I have both. The performance of both is very similar. I have the smaller barrel Dudley. I do find the sweet spot is a little smaller with this model Dudley as compared with the Cat. The larger 13 Dudley could be another story. I take batting practice with the Dudley, but use the Cat in the game. Can't tell you at this time would be more durable. I went through 2 2015 " Cats" last year. Bats to me are just a cost of doing business. Some of us spend about 10 grand, or so, a year on tournaments, so $400 on 2 bats a year is a small part of the equation.

Discussion: Ratings

The rating of any one, or more, particular teams can be changed at any time. There are automatic rating periods in December and June. However, when circumstances dictate, a change in rating can occur at any time. When we won our third straight in April of last year, we were automatically bumped to 70 major plus for Reno. Well ahead of the June rating period.

Looking for team that needs a good hitter for Dalton and/or Vegas. Rated 70 Major for SPA, 70 Major Plus for SSUSA. Live in Florida. First and Catch, or EH for the right team. Ron 316-6559648. rrkemmerer@gmail.com

Hey Greg, Hope you guys are doing well. Most of the teams in Major or Major Plus that I have talked with here have full rosters. The team that I played with in the ISSA TOC, don't quite have enough 70s guys to make a really good team. They are contemplating going to Vegas as a 65 team. Looking forward to seeing you guys again. Best regards, Ron

Yes, I saw that on the tournaments page. I played for Legacy last year. But after moving from Kansas to Florida, my understanding is that I must now play with a + team east of the Mississippi. Just checking to see about some last minute changes.

Any 70 Major Plus teams east of the Mississippi need a player for Reno? Or a 70s Major team bordering Florida?

It is also important to see where the added weight is added to the bats. In the past, the added weight was added to the handle. I would think that the added weights were not added to the end loads, which are fairly standard. For instance, I have a Big Cat and I believe the end load is 1 oz. for all weights. Therefore, the extra weight would have to be added at another point on the bat. If that is the case, then the lightest weight would actually be the most endloaded.

There is bit of a difference between this years Big Cat and the previous 2 years. This years apparently breaks in much slower. Mine has over 200 hits and it is still behind the previous years. Out of the wrapper it was a log, so you will be disappointed at first. Mine has just started to come around. The next 100 hits or so will tell the story. The '14 and '15 were two of the best recent bats ever made. I just hope they didn't screw up the performance for a bit of endurance, like they did with the ill fated Red endload about 4 years ago.

Discussion: Endload?

I agree. At least 225 swings. The 2016 model does not break in as easily as previous years. I have about 200 swings on my new Big Cat and it is no where near the 2014 or 2015. I just hope that it will finally get there. I was so disappointed today, that I pulled out my old red endload.

Foothills, My new Big Cat also seems to be a bit behind last years model. I love this bat, but the new model is very slow to break in. I'm wondering if they tried making it more durable at the expense of performance. Kind of like they tried with the red endload about 4 years ago. I'm wondering if they would replace it like they did with the redesigned red endload. I really don't care about durability. I want performance. Miken?

New to Florida. I have a Major Plus designation for 70 SSUSA, Major for SPA.
If I'm reading the rules correctly, I could play for any 70 Major Plus team east of the Mississippi for SSUSA. If there is a team that is looking, I would be interested in talking with you.

I would also rate Golden Eagle and BLD Vegas as the best. The fields in Henderson NV. are also really nice.

Discussion: seeking 65 Major or AAA... 3B 1B P. in KC area

There are 2 teams from the KC area that are AAA and play tournaments. The KC Kids/Renegades,and the KC Fire. If he is a resident of Kansas, he could also contact the Scrap Iron organization. A highly organized softball club that last year had 14 teams out of the Denver area, of all classes and age groups. All of the teams are good guys and monitor this board. Good luck
