Discussion: 45+ Looking for a team

halfpint20, Ive been playing 50s since our 40s team broke up, I could possibly double roster but 50s comes first... I probably wouldnt get many games in with you guys unless we were out on Sunday. What team is this for?

Discussion: Rating change for a team that disbanded

I understand the rating review and why it happens but I dont understand doing it after a team split up and everyone was released from that team and especially after that team only won one tournament since it first started several years ago. It just doesnt seem fair to bump a team up after one really good performance winning winter worlds. If the team was brand new and started out winning big, then I guess that would make more sense to me. Theres other teams that have won that tournament and others and never moved up. It doesnt effect me either way because Im already rated major but it could effect others from our team and the new teams that they went to which could really effect whether or not they play at the major level because theyre just not going to be competitive at that level. Anyway, they will deal with it.

As to teams picking up players from disbanded teams... The rating want announced til now... The team split in April while still AAA so now that team possibly gets penalized as a result

What is considered doing well enough to be bumped so fast? They won one tournament since they were together. Had a second place finish in two team bracket, went 0-5 in another tournament, didn't finish top 5 in Worlds....

I don't see how finally putting everything together in one tournament qualifies a bump to major. Doesn't seem right when the team was competitive with all the other AAA teams in the division and they're still rated AAA.

And better yet what happens to all the players on that team that have long since found or teams to play for? They are now considered major? So are all the AAA teams going to be reviewed to see if they have more than three major players?

Why would a team get moved to Major in July when the team split up in April and notified SSUSA out split and most of the players found other teams already?

Discussion: Schedule for 40's World

Be happy to be at Arroyo... Women's 40s was supposed to be there and we get stuck at one of the worst complexes in Vegas not to mention crappy neighborhoods to drive thru to get there. Booked hotels based on the website saying we'd be at Arroyo and Russell Rd and now we're clear across town on to of it. UFB

Discussion: Throwing arm has gone bad.

Id suggest getting a good orthopedic dr and getting it looked at. I tore my bicep tendon but it never rolled up so I didnt know for sure and couldnt throw without pain so I finally got it checked out. Many roll up and give you a popeye arm look.. mine did not. Had to have surgery and a few weeks later just reacting to my dogs fightning I broke it up and tore it again, the day after I was given the ok to be out of my sling. Definitely get it looked at. Ive since had my second surgery on that arm. I also had some other stuff in there that he found and cleaned up... bone spurs and a couple other minor things. That was in 2008 and 2009.. Ive since been back to playing and I play short so I need to be able to throw :) Go have it looked at

Discussion: Rotator Cuff Surgery or not?

Had three shoulder surgeries and not going to lie. It sucks! I've been playing ball since I was 5. I'm 48 I've had my right twice and back to back due to an issue away from playing but not the less... Not fun once let alone twice. Long recovery and if I ever need it again my sball days are done. My Dr also said with me getting older the chances of recovery aren't great if I need it again. I play SS currently and don't have the arm I had and that was after almost a year later and heavy physical therapy. It's a lot of work and it's very painful. I'd get a couple opinions. I had the left one done as well more from diving for balls when I was younger... BTW, my right was for a torn bicep tendon mostly. Good luck

Discussion: Vegas 50's Fields

Y'all can get stuck on the fields the women get... Last fall Dos Esquales...two fields in a residential area, grass infield I recall. Then there's usually Shadow Rock and Hollywood...got my boss busted there off a bad hop on the lip off the crazy high grass. Haven't played at BLD since 2010. But whose counting

Discussion: Opinions about custom glove makers....

Ive had several gloves since I was a kid. I picked up a Nokona on clearance for 100.00 .. broke it in and ended up using my old glove still because it was too heavy. I loved the glove tho. Put it on Ebay and sold it for 275.00 Anyway, that was a couple years ago. I currently have a great little Easton glove that was about 75.00 and its nice but not the quality I had hoped. A few friends recently bought from a guy here in Az. AZGLOVEMAN.com he's also on facebook. I ended up ordering. His prices way better than any custom glove Ive ever seen. 155.00 and you can pick everything color of inside leather, outside leather, pocket, lacing, stitching if you want embroidery. Its a great quality leather, Im still working on breaking it in. Seems to have more padding than any glove Ive ever had as well which is why its taking me longer to break in. Im hoping to have it ready to go for Vegas but his stuff is worth the price!

Unfortunately, were still to young to retire and not everyone has the availability to play Friday or stay til Monday. Yep, winning it all is the only option but even with a 3pm championship if not on time will be pushing it... last flight to AZ is 730 ... luckily the airport is small and hopefully wont require 2 hr check in
