| Nov. 27, 2013 GaCMan | Topic: General and miscellaneous Discussion: Positioning of screen protecting pitcher We have been using the screen in league for 3 years. We still use senior bats and 44- 375 baden fire balls. The screen has worked great for us. First time you hit it its a dead ball no strike. From then on its a dead ball strike. The net has to be center of pitching rubber either left or right. We still have a pitcher get hit every once in a while. Some just won't get behind it, Still think they are fast enough to defend themselves. Most pitch from behind the net with no problem. I think it needs to be used in our league because of different ages of players. We have players on all teams from 50 to a few upper 60s. Most all of our league are very good players, but the different ages make it nessasary. We like it. |

Winning tournaments doesn't seem to be the reason. I always thought that you had to win the bigger ones like DALTON,VEGAS type of tournaments. To me that is a good judge of what a team is, not the small qualifiers. Our area had a FAIR AAA division until last week. SPA moved all of the AAA teams except 1 up to MAJOR. None of these teams won in Dalton. The team that won in Dalton got moved up to MAJOR only after winning there and in VEGAS. Then 6 months later the rest of us get moved up!!!! GO FIGURE!! Then to ad insult to injury SSUSA followed SPA and has also moved all of these teams up. Guess they talk to each other about this. Most of the tournaments we played in last year 55AAA had less that 4 teams in this division. We only won 1 tournament and it had only 2 teams in 55AAA. I guess that means we are MAJOR now, WOW. I never said WE didn't want to play anyone.What I said was if you put a MAJOR team in a AAA division why if the AAA team beats all AAA teams why not give them the AAA championship. The MAJOR team should get the MAJOR championship only if they beat all AAA teams. Also maybe, why not there be no chance for the MAJOR team to send a AAA team home when there are more AAA teams than MAJOR.JMO Looking for answers to a problem as I see it.I know also that some wouldn't want to play them because it would wear on them for the rest of the tournament, I have seen this also. I have never refused to play anyone. Maybe if the MAJOR team isn't intrested in POOL games count all as a bracket game for them. DOING THIS CANNOT BE THAT GREAT OF A COST TO THE ASSOSIATIONS. ALSO WOULDN'T THE MAJOR TEAM RATHER HAVE A MAJOR CHAMPIONSHIP???? I have seen ISSA do there tournaments this way before. I'll say this one more time. WE DON'T MIND PLAYING ANYONE, I DONOT HAVE A PROBLEM WITH THE MAJOR TEAMS!!! I HAVE SEEN THIS BEFORE BUT WHY NOT COMBINE SOME AGES MAYBE, 50 TO 57 or 58, and 58 to 65 or 66 and so on. There seem to be less and less teams out there, WHY. Just looking for answers to make this better and more teams per division.I don't know but maybe less divisions. Maybe only 3 divisions, AA, AAA, MAJOR OR MAJOR PLUS??? NOT AFRAID TO PLAY ANYONE THAT PLAYS GOOD CLEAN BALL!!! THIS IS THE MOST FUN EVER, ALL WE WANT TO DO IS PLAY BALL. Another tournament this weekend with multiple teams in my division 55AAA and they drop 1 60 MAJOR team in with us who no AAA team thats there really has a chance to win against?? This happens quite regularly where I am from. I or we don't mind playing these guys but IMO 5 years is not an equalizer from AAA to MAJOR unless you have a very strong AAA and the MAJOR team is very weak. That wasn't the case. Also if, IMO if you beat all of the AAA teams your team should get the CHAMPIONSHIP for the AAA bracket. The MAJOR team (if they beat all of the AAA teams should then get the MAJOR CHAMPIONSHIP DUHHHHH. Why is it they let 1 team do this to multiple other teams. Whats the point in RATING teams and having aged groups. Am I way out of line here or is the PROFIT from these tournaments so little the these ASSOCIATIONS can't AFFORD one extra $10.00 plack. On top of all this the FEES for this tournament went up from $350.00 last fall to $465.00 this spring. This is not the first time I have seen this happen. Even though we played these guys 3 times and we also played some very poor ball with them it does get old getting the crap beat out of you and watching the only major team there take our divisions trophy. IMO if there is to be mixing of groups majors should be playing majors and if there is a age differance then give runs As I said don't have a problem playing them, but this is starting to happen all the time several times this season. Paying these over priced tournaments and this happening is getting old JMO. |

If a team mate of mine used a illegal bat and I knew it he would no longer be on my team!! This is not the first time this topic has been on here, I just happened to restart it. I do not understand the mentality of someone who would alter a senior bat, they are hot enough and they don't last long enough as it is. And you are right JESUS DOES. |

I think that a lot of players are holding on to a later age in the 50s because there are no teams in the 55s maybe????? I a lot of the older guys in the 50s would go on and move up there would be plenty of 55s, I think. Seems to me they stay there untill they make one jump to the 60s. JMO Who knows just wish there were more teams in that group. Guess I will have to wait till I turn 60 to get enought teams to play. CMAN |

Have had nothing but good experiences with both of these men. IMO unless its new you never know what you may get on EBAY. I would rather do business with someone I know that on EBAY. | Jan. 2, 2012 GaCMan | Topic: General and miscellaneous Discussion: bifocals and softball Hey guys I started out with progressive only problem was running in the outfield after fly balls would sometimes loose the ball just before it hit the glove. Never missed one but got afraid one would hit me in the face. Hitting didn't seem to be as much of a problem with them. I changed to single vision lens with transisions for the sun this last year after talking to a good friend who happens to be a eye Dr. This combo works great. Think this is the way to go. I even tryed contacts but the vision was not nearly as sharp as with glasses so went back to the glasses. |

But I guess 1st looser is better than 2nd looser. Still a little ticked about the whole weekend, not a very well run tourney. Oh well maybe we'll see you in myrtle beach this spring we are planning on that one I think in march or april. We plan on trying to make the ISSA Trail this year. Hope to get the free one to VA.
