Just take a look at the international tie breaker and ASA says the man starting at second base can be anyone and SSUSA says it has to be the last batter "NO QUESTIONS". |

| April 27, 2015 paul0784 | Topic: General and miscellaneous Discussion: Major plus problem Webbie, how would you like to play in the Northeast where there are a total of less than 20 teams of all age brackets playing tournaments. There is maybe one team in the M+ bracket in the whole Northeast. So, even playing M is a disadvantage here because trying to field a team of say 60 year olds is even a problem. We just got moved up to 60M after the greatest weekend we had finishing second at the Worlds and now are having trouble finding 60 year old guys to fill in the spots vacated by some of our teammates. Due to injury and just age have stopped playing. We just don't have the inventory of players that other areas of the country have at their disposal. We have never shied away from playing anyone at any level but if you can't compete you can't compete. Good luck this year on the field and hope your health issues are behind you. |

Teams in the Northeast area MASS, NY, RI, NH, and ME are at a disadvantage because there aren't many Major+ teams in this area that are active if any at all. So when the teams try to play Major in the rest of the country they have trouble competing. When you look at the total number of teams playing tournaments in this area could be a total of maybe 17-20 teams in all age brackets in the whole Northeast area. Whereas on the West Coast and some other areas there are probably 17-20 teams in each age bracket? So, is that the same playing field? |

So he was stradling the commit line and the third baseman couldn't stop in time and ran into the runner then threw home to the plate but you're right because of the contact he was awarded the plate? I don't think that was fair to the third baseman at all with the runner trying to go back to third. |

How does that happen SSUSA? |

We only picked him up for depth and he really didn't play that much and is a AA player? So can he go back to his AA team before playing any Major tournaments? That was my question? |

| Nov. 18, 2014 paul0784 | Topic: Rules of the game Discussion: commit line between third and home with the new 70' bases the commitment line is now 30' from home plate. Once you cross that commitment line you can't come back. However, we had a play this year where the runner was being chased by the third baseman and after the runner crossed over the line he tried to go back and was run into by the third baseman and was awarded the plate for interference on the third baseman? They said once he goes over the line you can't tag him out so if the third baseman had thrown home to the catcher and tagged the plate he would have been called out. Only problem was the third baseman was running so fast he had no idea the runner would stop and trun back and ran right into him then threw home but it was too late cause he had already committed the interference? Smart runner but I still think he should have been called out for causing the interference by going back somewhere he can't go? This was also posted earlier this year? |
