Do you guys really believe that the fields you played on were THE ONLY fields that the sun was a problem?

IT'S Las Vegas for crying out loud!

What did you expect?

You made a wise decision in leaving that sexy woman at the party. She is just a waste of time and will probably go and tease some other guy. Tease and talk it's what she does. Leaving with your wife is the best way to go home. At least you know you are going with a person that you feel safe and comfortable with.

By the way, is your wife's name Reebok, Combat or Miken?

Sure I could swing these prototypes all day long and admire how great they are.

But in the last 2 or 3 months I have bought 2 bats to replace broken ones. I'm sure you can figure out what bats I did not buy, because I could not buy.

I don't know of any Realtor showing multi-million dollar homes to people that are not qualified or can't buy in the first place.

Like that good looking, sexy woman coming on to you at the party. You know you really can't have. Go home and take a cold shower....

It's just a tease!

I guess I just don't get it.....

What is the point of showing a bat that nobody can buy?

Discussion: Has the game really been toned down?

It's not just the Bat/Ball combination that's making guys in their senior years hit better now than years ago.

I think there are other factors that are "overlooked" when it comes to seniors hitting the ball better now than when they did in their younger years.

One example is the fact that the seniors I play with do a whole lot more batting practice now than when I was playing ball 20-40 years ago. I have done BP with guys like Imlay (He hits balls by the bushel basket)and I hit about 100-150 balls a week. I know of guys that have their own back yard batting cages. Years ago home batting cages were practically unheard of.

Another factor is that I have learned more about hitting in the last 20 years than I ever knew. With hitting videos from Ray DeMarini and many others, I learned a lot. And what about "Training Camps" and baseball/softball schools? Now with the internet there is a whole lot of hitting advice and information at the tip of your fingers. Also there are lots of information on hitting drills, not to mention instruction on sport specific strength training. Another source of learning is from just watching MLB games on TV. With instant replay, slo-mo, stop-mo and 3-D, I get to see things in HD that were not possible to see on that old 19" black and white TV set years ago.

Discussion: Youtube video explaining difference between Wrist Snap & Wrist Rollover Swing Makeover #7

I can see how this video helps those that use the "hand above hand" (baseball type grip), but how about the guys that use the "hand on top of hand" (softball) Rose grip?

Which is better for slow pitch softball?

Discussion: Tired of breaking bats

The bat companies are not stupid. They know the senior bats don't have durability by design. That is exactly why senior bats do not have a warranty.

While some of you may have had good runs with your bats, you were just lucky to have received a bat that was extraordinary.

If and when the durability issues are ever resolved the bat companies will be offering warranties on senior bats. That is when you can expect the price of the senior bats to be much greater than the $200 range they are now. The bat companies are in business to make money, pure and simple.

A little birdie told me....

"ALL repeat ALL composite bats

and ALL repeat ALL high end aluminum bats,

no matter the make or model,

senior version or not, are prone to break when

used at temperatures below 60 degrees!"

Yes those are great bats until the end cap pops up!

I glued it down but not long after the bat cracked.

Too bad Combat hasn't figured out a way to keep to end caps from coming up or off. If they ever solve that problem then they will have made the perfect senior bat with both great performance and above average durability.

Discussion: SLIDING!!

Most won't slide because they don't want to hurt their legs.
The infields at most of the fields in Las Vegas use a type of sand that will instantly turn your legs into hamburger meat. I have seen guys scrape their knees by just getting down on one knee just to stop a ball.
If you were to take a piece sticky paper and press the sticky side into the ground and pick it up. Congratulations, you will have just made yourself a piece of coarse sandpaper. It won't matter if your wearing long pants or not. Those type of scrapes take a very long time to heal. Been there, done that! I would rather take the chance of being called out than to slide with no guarantee that I would be safe. Most teams hate to lose players for games due to unnecessary injury's. Most managers would rather sacrifice the out over a lost player with bleeding knees.
