Food for thought to the organizations..........
Is it all about money or do these organizations truly care about increasing senior participations??? Here are a couple areas of interest that I have discussed with the "higher ups" years ago.....
1) why don't players get rated instead of the teams??...Reason: so many seniors want to participate but cannot find a team, for one reason or another, to get involved. It could be reason for money or time issues, etc. In this manner, there could be a division in the regional and national tournaments for those and handled by a person for that region. Results: money player participation, more teams and of course, more monies for the organizations !!!
2) Why don't these organizations allow the host cities for tournaments be given the rights for league teams to participate without individual cards. Again, sooooo many players do not have the time to invest for a long term commitment, but it gives them the opportunity to get a flavor for the fun of playing senior softball and having the opportunity to meet new friends and experience the fellowship.
Just curious to what other's may think on the above. You may have other areas of thought .thank you for reading.....

My take on it.
1. Short reply the 'ratings' now take into account both individual players and team as a whole for that. Yea more teams higher fees etc etc., money honey for all of them.

2. So who is going to 'vouch' for those league players. I doubt many verify players age and who they play with or have played with, if at all. Really dumb.
I suggested another board thread for pick up players some years back but it's not here...is it. But yea, a message board for this is needed with something basic.
Name, age, rating, city\State, contact info, where interested in playing.
We see stuff like this on here but nothing specific., it all where ever you might find it.
Of no real value because many are within other threads and are just there.

If you know of a league that has that many players, not on travel ball teams, have them put a team together and join in the fun.
