Thanks to Smith Electric and staff in Prescott
I want to send out a special thanks to the Smith Electric 60's team and the staff at the Tom Tobin Memorial Tournament in Prescott. In a tie game in the championship, while on deck, I noticed my 86 year old Dad not doing well. As I asked him if he was alright, he began vomiting and seemed to be on the verge of passing out. I left to attend to my Dad, as did numerous others. We managed to get him in the dugout and 911 was called. While tending to my Dad's needs, the entire Smith Electric team came over to offer assistance. At that time, Smith Electric announced the game was over and would go down as a tie, as my Dad's health was far more important than any game. This goes to show how senior softball players are one big family. I can't thank everyone enough for your help, thoughts and prayers and hopefully answered or returned all your calls and emails. I am happy to report my Dad is doing well and has been released from the hospital with a severe case of food poisoning and dehydration. When we return to Prescott in July, I'm sure he and my step mom will be on the sidelines, loud as ever, with thanks to all.

I'm glad to hear that your father is ok. I'm sure that this was a big scare for you and your family.
We had already hit the highway and wasn't aware that this had happened. But I'm not surprised that Smith Electric chose to handle it that way. Dennis Merkle, their manager, is one of those people that serves the game... he doesn't expect it to serve him. In addition to Merk, they have an entire cast of people that are similar.
The Tom Tobin TD and staff work very hard to make this a good event. We always look forward to being in Prescott in mid May. I'm happy that they are getting some of the recognition that they deserve.

My stepmom Sami, asked me to send a heartfelt thank you to everyone for their thoughts and prayers concerning my Dad. She was overwhelmed by the number of emails, phone calls and responses on the message board. Again, it shows what kind of family we have in senior softball. My Dad is doing much better and plans to be at the Prescott tournament in July.
