BLACK MIKEN ULTRA 2 PROBLEMS FIXED ?
MIKEN had a batch(s) of the regular ULTRA 2'S a few months ago that " had no pop " at all. as far as you know has this particular problem been corrected ?

i bought one that was a dud, sent it to miken and got it back as being okay. i finally got rid of it.
i switch to a reebok melee balanced and this one is getting hotter and hotter as time goes by, BUT as far as i am concerned , it does not compare to a regular ultra 2 .

so , is the miken ultra 2 back to normal as far as manufacturing ? no more batch problems ??

Any idea of a serial number range for the bad batch?

I bought a black Ultra II about two weeks ago. That bat is hotter than the one I had had for quite a while. Wonder if this thing will get any hotter as time goes by, and breaks itself in.?

WAYNE 37- i read someplace that the composite bats get stiffer as time goes by. not sure if this means they get brittle or harder to break.
nobody knows the answer because they normally dont last that long with a normal hitter.

see ya tonite, i will give you an extra 25 ft in right field now that you warned us about your new miken.

On July 30, 2013, I purchased a black Ultra from Dunham Sports in Sterling Hgts, MI that felt deader than a doornail. Let a buddy hit with it and he said the same. So yesterday I took it in to LineDrive Sportz in Sterling Hgts. where they performed a compression test. The first words out of the gentleman's mouth were "That is a bad bat!". So I boxed it up and sent it back to Miken, will report back here when I get a response. As a side note, I had a friend's new Ultra with me but that one checked out fine.

I believe the batch of bad bats went into circulation about a year ago, maybe a little longer.

I had a bat with same issue Cougar had above, and Miken replaced it very promptly for me, after I sent it back with RA# back to Miken for inspection.

My replacement bat is fine.

Today is Thurs, Aug. 29, and I just received a new Ultra-II as the replacement for the bad one I sent back last week. Great turn around and my thanks to Miken Sports...........

I could be wrong, but I believe most of the bad bats last year got out to retail stores?

At least that is what the guy at my local softball supply store told me???

Corky also told me something similar at a tournament last year, but also explained what to do, and how to do it, and again, Miken took care of it for not only me, but two of my buddies who got the same bad batch of bats from same store.

To 17Black: As far as the claim about bad bats making it to retail stores, two guys I know purchased theirs from Dunhams's and the third got his over the internet. And as a side note, the bad bat I sent back had no visible serial number on it but the replacement did............I wasn't about to remove the original bat's grip to see if there was one......
