ILLEGAL BATS, WHAT ABOUT BALLS?
I am getting tired of all of this illegal bat crap. A few yrs ago, some OLD A's, went on line about illegal bats in Reno. The Old Bums, got me & Rick P, mixed up. I have not played in Reno in 5 yrs. One of the Old A's, asked Rick, Jim, & another player not to use a certain bat. Rick & company used other bats & were still hitting bombs.
Generally, if, a player or several players ask the other team not to use a bat, most MAJOR PLUS, players will just pull out another bat. If, a team ask nicely, most players will just use another bat or a bat that one of his team mates r using.
The problem arises: 1) when 5 or more players r using the same bat. 2) Teams r allowed to bring their own balls to hit or r allowed to buy balls from the tournament director.
IN THIS CASE, THESE BALLS CAN BE TAKEN BACK TO THE MOTEL & HEATED IN A MIRCOWAVE. 3) Most balls that r made, Decker, Trump, Dudley, etc are hot. Balls that r made & tested, in over 50% of the test fail. The manufactored ball r hot. Even balls that r used in testing bats, r also, to hot. It has been showned that a hot ball can turn a 1.1BPF into a 1.29 BPF.
SAFETY::: THIS IS BULL. If, players & the Summit were really interested in player safety, then the only two balls that would be used would be 50 cor balls w/ a comp of 375 or a 47 cor ball w/ a 375 comp. This FACT comes from the ball manufactors & the U.S. DEPARTMENT of ENERGY... Also, a bat would have to weigh @ least 29 oz. No more 25, 26, 27, or 28 oz. bats. Less bat speed= less BBS. Remember, @ 50 ft, a ball that travels over 85. 2 MPH, will go 50 ft, in 0.4 tenth of a sec. Pitchers can not react any faster.
I & several MAJOR PLUS, ball players hit most Tuesday & Thursday, in VEGAS. We have been hitting for 4 to 6 months some 44 cor balls w/a 375 comp. These balls still fly. Rick, Joe, & I, still r hitting some of these balls 350 ft to 400 ft. We have been hitting Deckers, Dudleys, & Trump.
TESTING of BATS: Cost is $3,000 to $4,000. There r only 2-3 testing labs. Also, the labs r asses. 2-3 yrs ago, I had letters from EASTON, MIKEN, & WORTH telling the testing labs that these labs could give me a copy of the test results on any bat that I requested. I got no answer or "we r an independent test' lab, & can not......" JUST MORE BULL...
If, u do not believe me, I have e-mails & BRUCE WALKER, will tell u the same run around was given to him(Bruce W.).
LAST POINT: R we just angry old men, that want to hang a man, or r we ...........?? If, we r going to test bats, let's also, test balls that were hit. (The ones that were
bombs.)
GOOD LUCK............ The STONEMAN

I agree about the bats. Yet I think the bat problems are starting to clear up. I understand that there will be a new rule for bats that caps cannot be removed (to alter the bat) without breaking the whole bat. I think it is for ASA.
It seems that all the major leagues, ASA - NSA - USSSA have a grip on the whole bat problem. The only one that seems to be in the dark is SSUSA. After all, these are the folks that allow the U2 but cry wolf over a simple ASA fastpitch bat. What a joke, in SSUSA, a ASA 98 mph 34/28 bat cannot be used in (all other assoc's are ok) yet we can use a million mph U2. This only shows that SSUSA knows little about bats or just does not care.
My point has nothing to do with bats here, the real point is we cannot tust the the powers to be to make the right choice becuase they simply don't know. My gut feeling is whoever pays the most, their bats will be legal.
I do not agree about the balls, the Decker and Trump balls are great. We use the Trump (47/525) in Scottsdale and Decker (44/375) in our ASA senior ball in Chandler, both are great. I think the real problem is too many old farts, like me epressing too many opitions.

BATGUYAZ:: Ball makers have gotten into trouble w/ making hot balls. Some of the test' labs have also gotten into problems by test' bats w/ hot balls. There is one test' lab that independent of ASA, NSA, USSSA, ETC. This lab is also, not inlined w/ the test' labs that r used by ASA, NSA, USSSA, ETC.
Yes, I love the Decker & Trump balls. But, their ball have been tested & r hotter than what is written on the balls. I ASK U THIS QUESTION::: if, a ball a lope sided, why, will it still go over 350 ft.??? If, u send me yer e-mail, I can send u the article by the ball makers & U. S. DEPART' of ENERGY, that states the only two safe balls r 50 cor balls w/ a 375 comp & the 47cor ball w/ a 375comp.
U r right about the powers to be. Why, do u think SPA, has broken away from NSA??? Also, ISA, SPA, LVSSA, & SS-USA, ARE TRY' TO DO WHAT most Seniors want. The U 11, as a legal bat.

Thanks & GOOD LUCK

I would be gad to send you any of the test results from the only a2la accredited lab that we use. I think you will find that the balls we make are in spec.
Balls unlike bats change withthe tempature. A 375 pqi ball at 40 degrees id really about 700 pqi, and at 100 degrees it will be around 200 pqi.

THRUMPBALL: Thanks! Which testing lab r u with? OR r u able to get results from? @ this stage does it really matter?
TEST on the FOLLOWING BATS::
1) ULTA, end load & balance, OR any MIKEN bat.
2) SYNERGY 3) ANDERSON..... & SO FORTH....
WHY? Who, is telling the truth? I ask question, & then I am told that if, I do not quit, "I will be banned from all of softball." Why, has SPA, gotten away from NSA>
Before u send these results, I am more than willing to send u a whole lot or run around material that I have gotten over the last couple of yrs. ETC, ETC...... What is the truth? R the powers, from above so, holy?

Thanks, from the bottom of my sole.
