On My Honor
There were 3368 hits in reference to the supposed doctored bat in Seattle; here is what I am going to state.
On my honor: I promise that I have not used an altered bat(specially reloaded; rod removed or shortened, player's model, shaved, etc.) in 2006 (nor before; but will just leave it for this year) & I promise that in the years to follow that as a fellow senior softball player; I will not degrade these fine organizations
nor insult my fellow team mates by using an altered bats. I did put too much tape on my bats, but nothing else; they were passed by every ump. Who will follow suit & attach their name with honor?

Yo TaterinGa...

On my Honor???What is this some kind of confessional or something?
I don't need to have a "on my honor" type of thing.
I don't even think of going there as a player.
Maybe don't play with those type of players or even if you know of any turn them into your Director or Senior Rep.
I take all ball players for what their worth. We have them all over. Unless the players take action against these types
it would be hard to catch them all.
But thanks for your honesty. Play Ball!

Stones; if that is the way you feel, so be it, but my honor is more important to me than just playing ball. I just read & read & read multiple post on all boards about altered bats. Just trying to see if anyone wanted to join me in an open stance & put their name on the line for all the players that view these boards, that they would not alter their bats. To me Playing ball is abiding by the rules of the associations & I will continue via e-mails to get a chain letter going that men will play on their "honor": they will not use altered bats. I have competed in the Major realm since 99 w/o the use of altered bats & will continue to do so. If you do not want to attach your name, no problem. Have a good day.

Tater nice hearing from you again. Most guys do it the old fassion way. If I can't hit it out myself with my own ablities than I just have to get a little bit stronger. As you know I'm only 180 lbs. but I can still hit the ball out once an a while.I know it's me not the altered bat. With the bats now days who needs a altered bat. Have a great winter and I'll see you around next year. Oh by the way the new Combat for Seniors is a good bat. Very close to the U2. Starts opening up after 50 balls. I baught an EL and very pleased with it.

What I'm sayiung is that I don't need to do the HONOR thing out in public and SHOW that I am not going to use the altered equipment.
I just don't use it and don't even think it.
I am the ASA player Rep here in Hawaii.
The organizations can't control it as an entity. The players must come forth if they know of another player using the altered equip. They should refuse to player with these players. Once a player has the label of being a "user/cheater" it super hard to get rid of that label.
99% of the ball players feel the way you and want the game cleaned up it's just that is not a petition type of thing...if we all do what's right in our own back yards then it will make a difference nationwide.
If I wake up in the morning it's a good day so today is a good day.
Aloha Bruddah...

Good to hear from you Lefty: I think I weighed 180 when I was born; always had a problem w/the weight. Stones 1B: somewhere in the past someone thought that altering a bat would help,so they did & it begin to spread. My only intention is to try to turn the tide back the other way. I appreciate the input. Not trying to put anyone on the spot, just seeing if guys would look into the mirror & say; I have a God given ability & I will rely on that from this day on.

09.22.2006 Here is a thread that I started under the username TaterinGa; have changed to Tater50. Who, now, will join up with me?

I have not used & presently do not use & in the future will not use "Altered Bats".

If you really want to clean up softball, whether SSB or regular softball, then take a stand!!!

I'm with you big guy I have no problem putting my name and honor on the line in saying I will never and have never considered using any kind of altered equipment for the purpose of enhancing my game. I will also refuse to play with anyone useing altered equipment. Play fair or don't play at all. You can play hard ,aggressive and get down and dirty and still keep it clean.

Well: a very significant increase from 06'. There's a saying that you need "Organized Effort" to produce a desired effect. So,GaCMan, MadDog, & Dave; here's to a great start.

More will be added.

MadDog: I came up with a saying for our team "Band of Brothers"; we use this many times in prayer before & after the game, including the opposing team.

Get the guy off to the side, put your arm around his shoulder & just ask; "hey man is that a stock bat?"

Going to add your name to the honor list?? There's more than "5" honor men. Copy the names & add your name; your integrity is more valuable than a hot bat. Join & state that from this day forward you will NEVER use an altered/illegal bat!!!!
