Reebok Melee Legend vs. Miken Ultra 2
What is the better bat for consistent solid hitting.

That really depends on the swingers ability, however I'd say the Reebok had better longevity. Baring the swinger, I'd go with older U-2's over the new ones. Not sold on the 2 piece yet, but there are other Mikens that are good too.

I already have the yellow Melee. Just wanted to get a better feeling about how it compares to the Ultra 2.

Bob,
Great question….. the Melee Yellow is end loaded……. and the U2 is balanced…. the bats will swing differently….

My search was for a senior bat that would last more than a 150 - 175 hits… Which was the average life span of a U2 bat for me. I also tried the Ambush bat which is a durable bat but it took about 150 -200 hits to wake up and then I hit a lot of balls off the fence. It finally broke around 700 hits.

I have 2 yellow Melees, one for game day (about 400 hits on it) and one for BP with 200 hits. Of course My backup is the U2.

I played Palm Springs winter league last season most plays swing the yellow Melee are there. So I questioned numerous guys, why the Yellow Melee…. most guys said “great pop and durability” …. I’m 6’1”, 260 lbs play on a AAA team.

Last comment: I can hit the ball further with U2 but hit more consistent long balls with yellow Melee.

Reebok Legend by far for pop, durability and distance is much better than todays U2.. I got a 30oz Bal and a 28 & 29OZ EL and holding up very well.. all w/at least 400+ hits on each bat. Now IF? Miken were to have the Huevos remake the 2003 OG U2's... then the conversation changes...
