this was posted on softball fans board by Bruce

In the 50 Maj Plus, out of 8 teams, Specialty Tank 4th, Pilchers 3rd, California Mavericks 2nd and Kelly's 1st. I hope I'm right about 2nd and 3rd.

The only other division at our fields (Lorenzi) was the 50 AA. I think that Kallimazoo was in the top 4 there. Don't know about the rest.

There were some real bombs in the Major Plus thanks to the U2 and great balls.

I was told that Chicago Classics won the 65 AAA, and Travelodge won the 50 Major.

50 AA 1st place was Pride from Houston. Really did not belong in AA.
OTD from Tucson came in 2nd. They lost there 2 games in the round robin & there 1st game in elimination.

I agree w/Gary19in regards to Travelodge, and let's question the ranking of the Metro Coors Light out of Illinois being classified AAA when they should be Major at the least, if not Major Plus.

My congratulations to Kelly's Sports for their big win in 50 Major Plus.

My special congratulations to Einstein for his fantastic play. He put on a real show when hitting, fielding and, most of all, by being a team player. Even though he was launching tape measure homeruns almost every time he got a chance to swing, he took his walks whenever possible, when many other homerun hitters would still swing away.

When pitching, he took a line drive missile off the chest from an Ultra 2 but this didn't slow him down one bit. Also when pitching, he made the most fantastic catch I've ever seen, diving completely outstretched for a pop-up foul ball about one foot from the fence, about halfway between home and first base. He caught the ball for a big out in a big game that was very close. I was sitting in the stands right in front of the screen where he caught the ball. The fans could hardly believe their eyes when he made thjs catch and they broke into applause for his incredible hustle, fearlessness, and skill in making the catch. I hope Einstein got MVP because no one deserved it more than him.

Einstein - You really need to learn how to take a compliment. As noted at the bottom of my first post, I play for Doc's/Grayhounds Over 50 Major Plus. I also play for Korbas Over 55 major Plus. If you check with your coach and sponsor, Mike Kelly, he knows who I am. Again, my compliments on a great tournament. You were fun to watch.

I remember playing Doc's Grehounds
in Des Moines a couple of years ago.
What a terrific team and games we had.
You guys helped round out the best tournament
competitively speaking, I've played in all year.
Anyone could have won it.
Thanks for the recognition and kind remarks.

I fail to understatnd how Metro Coors Light was able to remain a 50+AAA team all year in spight of having won almost every tournament they entered.

brett there was no almost about it we did win everyone finished the year 37-1 only loss was to a very good bagbeys in saint louis.we did not run rule every team had some close games against very good teams.this team is made up of friends that have played together for years, all within a 50 mile area.why we were not moved up earlier you have to ask someone else.and we had no players that were rated major on the roster. rich#16 metro coors light
