Vegas AAA
Congradulations to the team from Rochester for winning Tourny (I am having a senior moment and can not renmember the name)!! You guys have a good team and are a great bunch of guys. To the Base Hawgs you guys are also a good team and a class act. We would play both teams any where or any time.
About the Tourny - THE FIELDS SUCKED!!!!!!!!!!! Freedom Park is a piece of \"S%&T\". Batters boxes a sand pit, the outfields terrible and infield hard as a rock. We also had 1 umpire a game (these same 4 guys worked every game at Freedom Park for the tourny, they worked 8 straight games Saturday). We did have 2 umps for the championship game. The trophy for second place was cheap hats that actually said 2nd place on them, we declined the hats!!!
I do not think we will be going back to Vegas again.

MV, yes the Base Hawgs are a Class Act & YES the fields were the worst fields I have played Senior Ball on. You were 3-5 inches below the plate from either side. No shade hardly & 1 Umpire on Fri./Sat. NO score boards, water in dugout was warm at times.......... I know I will NOT go back to Vegas for this tourney.

Sorry you feel that way as a vegas resident (no affliation with LVSSA) there are some great parks other than Freedom. I would not rush to judgement Frredom park I do believe it is scheduled for a major overhaul and is the site for the new Field of Dreams. From the ones I have played on in CA it should provide quite an experience. Hopefully you guys won some money at the sports book or the tables. I'm not sure if LVSSA will be in the rotation for the new park but it will probably have them look for alternative sites once completed. I can tell you that the softball community in town is very excited about the plans for Freedom park.

On behalf of my team, the Base Hawgs 50's, we appreciate the compliments. We have a great bunch of team players that play hard and respect our competition. Finishing 3rd behind the winning Rochester team and the runner-up Pinnacle team was a good accomplishment for us. We enjoyed the competition and would welcome the opportunity to play either team when rested. Having to play 9 games during the tournament to emerge from the losers bracket was a disadvantage we couldn't quite overcome. Even still a 1-run loss in the winners bracket and a 2-run loss in the losers bracket final shows just how close the games were. I hope to see you guys in future tourneys. Louie #22 Base Hawgs, mgr
