Orphan Team SoCal
Most everyone on this board plays for a tourney team, but not all teams play every tourney. That being said I have an email list of individuals that make up an "orphan team - Studs n Duds". The purpose is to provide a venue for individuals interested in playing when your tournament team is not playing. For that reason, we only play non sanctioned tourneys. This is to get your work in.

The first time we are going to try to get together this year is March 8-9 2014 in Hemet. I have a son in the Marines and want to support this event. Even if we are unable to field a team, I will be attending and competing in the HR Derby. All proceeds from the HR Derby go To benefit the Wounded Warrior Project.

Need to know stuff:
This is a pay to play, if you pay you play.
Roster limit of 13.
No sponsorship other than yourself.
We must have a legit pitcher.
Only 2 catcher/DH/1B/turtle race participants, because I am the 3rd one.
Batting order set 1st game and stays the same throughout tourney.
No Drama Mama, no whining and we don't take runs.

First come first served, so if you guys that got the email first, procrastinate, maybe next time.

I expect if we play we will be playing 55M+ or 50 AAA depending on the age of the pitcher.

Mike we miss the Studs and Duds. Thanks for putting this team together.

On the Wounded Warrior front I have this morning secured a DeMarini (The One)28oz and a White Centenarian 27oz for prizes in the HR Derby. Thanks to the generosity of Arnie Vice from Rated Athletics Im 2/3 of the way to securing all the prizes. The HR Derby will consist of three age groups. 50/55 and 60. I could still use some athletic equipment (preferably softball) for the Raffle. I have personally donated $300 worth of prizes for the raffle. Thanks again Mike for your help and thats "Rated Athletics" in Chino CA. in case you didn't read it right :O)

I have a good feeling this one will be a nice fundraiser for the Wounded Vets that have done so much for us! More info on www.socalssa.com

Need a water boy??? I could bring the water, but I will not squirt it into their mouths like the pro players demand because they are too important to actually get a drink themselves.

We will play wherever Marv puts us. If the youngest player is 55, we will probably be 55 M+, if the youngest is 50, probably 50 AAA. Bottom-line we are playing to get work.

Thank you for your interest. The roster for this tournament is now filled.

FYI - Non-sanctioned tourneys only, we don't mess with an individual's eligibility. I send a group email to players that might be interested in playing when their tourney team is not playing. If you want to be included on that list, send me an email to softball4b@aol.com. The majority of the time we will be playing in the 55 division even though some of us will only see that number again if it is on a highway sign.

See you on the field.

We had a player de-commit...not a bad thing, his tourney team entered the tourney...more better for the tourney...that being said, looking for a pitcher and or an infielder. We will be playing 55.
