Results of the First Annual SCSSA Wounded Warrior Project Benefit Tournement
Hemet California March 8-9

Results of the Wounded Warrior Benefit Tournament: First I would like to acknowledge some of the people and companies that made this a terrific start to what I hope is a long and beneficial relationship with the Wounded Warrior Project. Mark your calender March 8-9 2015... Next year should be huge if this year was any indication of the enthusiasm. It is undeniable that the following people helped make this tournament a success and without their help it simply could not have happened. We are truly grateful:

Home Run Derby:
Winners were (50) Sebastian Goodlaw (55) Mike “Pony” Carr.
Field coordinators Tom Jadwin and Rodney Hunt. (honorable mention to Gator). These guys did a great job making the H.R.D. flow. Mike Feeney, Denny McCoy and Steve Staley for volunteering to pitch to those guys that didn't have a pitcher. And to the dozen or more guys in the outfields and behind the fence shagging balls thank you – thank you. Without you this would have been a disaster. And last to Arnie Vice at Rated Athletics who donated the two bats for the prizes... thank you. What you did made it so 100% of the entry fees will go to the charity. For our part I hit my target of 20 or more entrees (24) and as a result we will be sending $480 to the charity.

The Raffle: Thank you to my son and his girlfriend Dawn for working this for me. It gets a little chaotic in the tent and I could not have done it without them. But more importantly to my little adopted granddaughter Jade that went out an sold raffle tickets. I know for sure without her little smiley face (that most could not turn down) I could not have sold as many tickets. Thank you to Ed Rhodes that donated two Bat warmers. Thank you to “Just Bats” for your donation and to all the other sponsors of prizes we thank you as well. For everybody's effort over $450 dollars will be sent to the WWP

Final Talley: With most everything in it looks like we will be sending over $2,500 to the Wounded Warrior Project. Thanks to all that bought shirts, hats, raffle tickets, entered the H.R. Derby and supported the tournament by entering your team. Again we are truly grateful :O)

Special Donors: I want to thank Jack and Mary Brunschmid, Jim Davis - John Crawford NCI)and Mike Adair for their kind and generous separate donations to the Wounded Warrior Project. On behalf of the Charity I Thank you!

I know this sounds like an acceptance speech at the Oscars but Im very thankful to all of you guys and gals. God Bless you all!

Now for the winners....

The weather was perfect and I was glad to be able to support such a wonderful project. Pony made it look easy.

The only downside is I wish I could have hit better for the Kamikaze 50 team.
