midwest toc, shawnee,ks
so when did ssusa decide to move sat. and sun. games to gardner? shawnee is a real nice complex but gardner complex looks like a cow pasture! why does ssusa have to be 2nd fiddle to another tournament, girls i understand? we travel and pay far to much $$ to not even be able to play 1 weekend a year at a decent complex, no less a so called midwest toc championship? this is totatly bs.

Celebration Park in Gardiner looks like a very nice Complex. I looked and cannot find that Cow Pature you are speaking of.

Using Google earth and the ruler tools, looks like 3 of them are 300 feet and the other is about 320 all around. Looks like a pretty nice facility.

Cal50 ... National Director Don Brooks will be working there on the weekend and visited the site today to view it and meet with park personnel ... His report was that it's as nice a facility as anyplace we play ... Good luck!

Dave, is it a baseball field?

Nope ... It's not a baseball field, but can be used as such for youth baseball if needed by installing a temporary pitching mound ... No permanent mound on the field ...

Also, when the overflow situation for the weekend at Mid-America was obvious, with both the Fastpitch folks and SSUSA needing more playing fields and game slots to handle demand, the Shawnee people stepped up big time to help ... The fastpitch tourney absorbed Heritage Park and we got Celebration Park ... Heritage has only 285' fencing and some HR ball retrieval issues due to vegetation, where Celebration meets our minimum 300' fencing distance specification ... This was a mutually beneficial solution and Doug Hite of Shawnee deserves kudos for finding a win-win solution under pressure ...
