RENTAL CAR PRICES FOR WORLDS 9/28-10/2
It appears vehicle rental prices are rather high at this time.
QUESTION: would it be feasible for all of the players who intend to rent a car, post on here if they get a great price on a car in the next few weeks?

AT THIS TIME, it appears that e-z car rental and somebody called firefly has the cheaper rates.

I am not familiar with these 2 rental companies. any experience ?

we ( seniors )need to look out for ourselves and help each other out if any car deals appear in the next few weeks.

thanks to all.

The problem that you might be running into is that many of these rental car places are starting to sell out. I just checked and several said they are heavily booked in October and are starting to run out of some of their cheaper deals. I will go out on a limb and estimate around 500 teams this year at the Vegas Worlds??

The least expensive car that I found was on Priceline.com. With the fee and all the other garbage added in, it was $98 for 3 days. Our team in the past has rented an RV with 10 people splitting the cost. It is great to have the RV for relaxing between games too.

If you can find a rental place outside the airport area, then you might have a better chance of getting a less expensive deal. This avoids all of the airport taxes.

Good luck!

SSUSA tournament personnel use Budget Car Rental from the click-through at the right side of this page, using the D560900 booking code ... We save significantly by renting off-site from the airport at:

BUDGET CAR RENTAL
9500 SOUTH EASTERN AVENUE - SUITE 100 (Eastern just off the 215 Freeway)
HENDERSON, NV 89123

This is about a $20-25 cab ride from the airport, the people at that location are outstanding and the savings from avoiding the "airport taxes and fees" are a lot more than the cab ride, especially with a shared cab ... You can also return a car picked up at this location to the airport without a "drop charge" ... Hope this helps!

Try atlaschoice.com Reserved a RAV4 from 1 OCT to 7 OCT for around 170.00. Have used them for the past year. By far the best prices and have had no hassles.

Just a note but every weekend after Labor Day in Las Vegas gets a lot of play due to NFL. We get 300,000 thousand visitors a weekend people love the NFL in Vegas. Prime weather also for golf. Lots of competition for cars and taxis.

I know that the topic was rental cars. In my July post, I estimated that there would be in the neighborhood around 500 teams, and I was correct. I also estimate that there will be around 550 next year. Great place to hold a tournament, and so many teams that you never get a chance to meet and play, and much larger divisions.

Just booked my car yesterday. Thought it was very cheap, about $25.00 a day! Mine was through Payless, but all the companies were advertising cars available. What you have to watch out for are the high fees and taxes that Vegas puts on. The advertised price was $19 a day! Anyhow, compared to car rental prices where I'm from and where I've travelled, I was pleased at the bargain.

Omar, it does not get much better than the price you received. Payless seems to be the cheapest at most locations lately.

If you only need a ride from the airport to Fremont St you can take
The Westcliff Airport Express (WAX). It's only $2.00 for a one way fare. Here's a link:

The Rental car situation is about the biggest scam I have seen. The rental itself is not bad, it is the $150 in airport taxes that are added in. Vegas-Billions of profit and the airport is worse than the one armed bandits.

The only way I have found to really reduce was to book my flight lodging and rental car through Southwest as a package. Then the airport tax was $51 which is about what I have been charged at other airports around the USA.

I miss Phoenix!

Gary ... That's why we book all of the Staff cars as mentioned above off-site with Budget ... We're getting about 15 cars in a fleet deal, and the savings are more than $100 per car in airport fees, even net of the $25 +/- cab ride to the place ...

gary, what kind of car are you renting? My taxes and fees (not all airport) was only $51.00 for 5 days for a 4-door Ford Focus. Are you renting longer or a much more luxurious car? Of course even my fee is outrageous, but that's what you pay for the convenience of picking up the car at the airport. It's another reason that I always use a credit card that has rental car insurance provided as part of the credit card privileges. Insurance from the rental company is even more out of this world.
