SSUSA TRANSGENDER ATHLETES POLICY REVISED
Upon reviewing the International Olympic Committee (I.O.C.) Transgender Policy, the NCAA policy, California State law, and in consultation with the National Center for Lesbian Rights and our own legal counsel, I am recommending a new Transgender policy for Senior Softball-USA based on the NCAA policy, which requires:

1. One year of hormone-suppression therapy resulting in loss of male strength characteristics.
2. A valid government-issued ID showing the person is the correct gender for the competition entered.

The final decision will be up to the SSUSA Rules Committee, which will vote on it at our annual Convention in December. In the meantime, I am vacating the SSUSA’s current Transgender Policy, based on the International Olympic Committee standards, and temporarily instituting the new policy until it can be formally confirmed by the Rules Committee.
