Las Vegas Tournament
Alot has been said about Texas Pride whether they are AA or should have been playing AAA...If that is the case, the Team from Hawaii and Florida should have been AAA also.. A big issue about hitting homerums is a little off base...first of all, those fields as awhole were short fields and lets not forget that that after 1 homerun everything was a single.. it seems to me that all the teams that were playing in the same bracket could have very easily won the tournament. The majority of the games played were very closed and could have gone either way... Hawaii could have easily won against Texas Pride that evening..they head the tying run on second during their buffet inning... give credit where it due and move on

My hat is off to Texas Pride for their accomplishment. My beef is with LVSSA, when they let upper division ballplayers move down in a world tournamnet, it ruins the integrity of the lower division. If you need ballplayers for whatever reason, the teams should be able to pick up ballplayers but make them come from the same division that the team is classified. As for homeruns in AA, we should be allowed 1 HR & everything else is an out. Hopefully, that would keep some of the teams from sandbagging. If a team in AA can put 5 over the fence in a single game, they don't belong in AA.

I second that Freddie...LVSSA.
Good for you Texas Pride.

Yes LVSSA...change the HR rule and you'll get more teams in the AAA and Major's. IMO.
Thanks still go out to LVSSA for doing the Tournament, it's still a great trip to your city.

Freddie and Stones... I agree with you wholeheartly that only one homerun is allowed and after that everything is an out.. This allows you to actually play ball between the lines... However, with that being said, it will never be perfect...There will always be something to screw it up.. hopefully it will get better...

All of the tournaments allow upper division players play down whenever they want. It has happened to our team many times, and in the same tournament. A major player playing on a major team, then playing on a AAA team later in the day. It will not change, because money speaks. As far as the guys that I play with, I said stack our team from the outset, then I do not care what the other teams do.

SSWC does not let you drop down. AZ Mob broke up right before world & their ballplayers could drop down.

Ley me tell you something, Freddie. Open up your eyes, because players are playing down for many tournaments and no one cares. Teams are playing down, and no one cares. I have been there several times this year and last year, and the TD always let it go. As I stated before, it boils down to $$$$ with no sense. In the last Vegas tourney in October, there were at least 3 major teams in the tournament playing against AAA teams, Why is that? I just checked the rating list!! If I wanted a ring that badly, I would have no problem buying one for each finger and paying for it myself. As a friend once said to me, I am playing for the spirit of the game and by the rules. If I have to cheat to compete, then it is not worth the effort to play. You think and say what you want, but you are 100% wrong!!

DUKE:: U maybe right about teams & players playing down. It will be up to the SUMMIT & SSWC, to do something about sandbagging. THERE is @ LEAST one
Winner , that should be forced to give up it's WINNINGS.

I was @ Freedom Park, that wkend. I could not get any Players or Teams to go w/ me & talk to the T.D., Steve Solomon. Several Major Plus teams & Players in the 50 & 55 group, were of no help.

Even a Team from Wisconsin, would not help. I brought it to SSWC & OTHERS. What about 6, 60 M+ players that won in Palm Springs the wk before & then dropping down & won the LVSSA WORLD, in the 60 Major.

LVSSA, will follow SSWC's DIRECTIONS, in these matters.

SO, please write to SSWC, Bill R, Terry H, Ridge H, & R B, about the on going problems. WRITE to LVSSA TOURNAMENT COMM.' Two yrs ago, several players were not allowed to play down & two teams were sent packing.

BEST of LUCK..... PLEASE do VOICE...

The STONEMAN.......

Stoneman: Thanks for your response. Many players or teams do not go to the TD anymore, because they will do absolutely nothing. They pretend to check it out, and ultimately say it is OK and nothing is wrong. You just need to stack your team with the best players you can(legal players), and play by the intregity of the game, while others just do not care how they win. I like winning, but not that way. You can refuse to play these teams, and make a stand at a far away tournament to teach these teams a lesson. Just give them the win, and go to the next game. The best we can do is accept it, or go elsewhere. I think alot of teams have just stopped playing or went elsewhere, where someone is trying to do it right. Until the TD does their job, we need to do ours. If you do not support the organization, they will get the point. They would be drawing more teams and revenue, if they themselves supported what they preach. Talking to them does absolutely nothing. Our team has tried for years to no avail. That is why we go to other tournaments, and surprisingly, most are run with integrity. Hopefully, it will stay that way as they get bigger.

We play AAA and most of the games we have played in at SSWC the last couple of years the teams, for the most part, all seem pretty evenly matched si I would guess someones doing a decent job of rating teams.
