SSUSA Membership
I am a member of the SSUSA association and will be playing in the "2014" Winter National Championship Tournament Nov. 4th thru the 6th. My card is valid thru the 2014 season. I called the SSUSA number to confirm my membership and was told that I needed to renew my card if I wanted to play in the Tournament????? He said that this is a 2015 roster event and that my card isn't valid and I had to wait until the 3rd week in October before I could renew it??? What the hell is going on! This is a 2014 Tournament and my card is good thru the 2014 season. I'm 68 and am easily confused sometimes, but this doesn't make any sense.

Simply put, it is something like this. That event starts the 2015 season. Thus you need to renew. Do as they say and avoid problems. Shouldn't be too hard.

The "2014 Season" ends when the World Masters Championships in your age group concludes (this week) ... The "2015 Season" begins with the first tournament thereafter ... The Winter National Championships is a 2015 Season event, requiring every player to have an SSUSA National Identification Card valid through (at least) the 2015 Season ... We do not operate on a calendar year basis ...

But you do as far as a players AGE is concernedpt. 18, 2014

Two others are 2015 events that play out this year as well. Taken from staff post Sept.18
The Winter World's and Winter National's are 2015 Season events, requiring a player card valid through at least the 2015 Season ...

Thanks for the clarification. I am not a problem maker and no, Taits, it's not that hard to follow the rules if they're clearly explained. Again, it's titled the "2014" Winter Nat'l and somewhere in the qualifications should be stated that it requires a 2015 membership. No offense intended and shouldn't be misunderstood. The "checks in the mail" :-)

I need to renew my card as I'll be 70 next year. Presently the only option online is to renew for one year. Will that be changed the third week in October so one can renew online for five years?

How do we purchase another 1 season membership for 2015? Currently the only 1 year option is for 2014.

To renew online here arte the options:
4 year(s): $55 Card expires: 2017

3 year(s): $45 Card expires: 2016

2 year(s): $35 Card expires: 2015

1 year(s): $20 Card expires: 2014
My present card already expires this year. If I want to renew for 2 years it looks like one of those is going to be 2014.

Why would I pay $35 for 2015 membership since the 2014 season is over. The renew online options need to be updated so that you can purchase a 1 year 2015 membership.
