Mobile Senior Softball Championships
Was very disappointed in the condition of all the fields in Mobile. You could have put up a net in the infields and held a beach volleyball tournament.
Also, some of the fields had fences of 275' and less.
A number of teams indicated they will not be back and will look to play elsewhere. There are a number of complexes in S.C, Fla. and Ga. that have fields that would be worthy of holding a Seniors World Championships in the fall.

I wasn't there but I also heard of the poor fields.
I was told that that the umpires there refused to call the batter out when running in the box. If the umpires don't call that rule then it needs to be removed from the rule book.

BruceinGa.
One ump said, "If you run-up and hit the ball while out of the box you are out".

Len, you should have asked him if you stood in front of the box and didn't run up, would that be ok? Its too bad someone didn't have a rule book handy and show him that it states that if you run up IN the box you shall be called out.

The incident that I referred to supposedly happened in the Hitmen/Classic game.
I should have included this in my previous post, sorry.

BigFly, having the SSWC tourney in those other locations would not work. They would not pay the SSWC enough to host the tourney. Las Vegas, Phoenix , Winnipeg are now Mobile are the best paying locations.
